  • Patent number: 10164496
Abstract: An electric machine for starting an internal combustion engine, comprising a housing (10) having at least one sealing device (14) which seals an interior (10a) of the housing with respect to the surroundings of the housing (10), and at least one pressure reduction device (1), wherein the at least one pressure reduction device (1) is embodied so as to be moveable in a translatory fashion relative to the at least one sealing device (14) in order to form, in the case of an overpressure in the interior (10a) of the housing, at least one venting duct via which an at least partial reduction in pressure is ensured.

    Assignee: SEG Automotive Germany GmbH
Inventors: Thomas Biessenberger, Oliver Neumann, Viktor Rill
  • Patent number: 9177744
Abstract: The invention relates to a switching relay (1), particularly for a starting device for starting an internal combustion engine, having a contact device (5), a relay coil (2), an armature (3), and an actuating rod (4), wherein the actuating rod (4) is displaced by the armature (3) when current is applied to the relay coil (2) and the contact device (5) is actuated by the actuating rod (4), and having a contact ripping device by means of which the armature (3) and the actuating rod (4) are coupled to each other. In order to simplify assembly and disassembly, the contact ripping device is implemented having a latching device in the armature (3).

  • Patent number: 8610297
Abstract: The invention relates to a starter (10) for an internal combustion engine, comprising a starter motor (12) which can be coupled to the internal combustion engine by means of a pinion (22), and a device for engaging the pinion (22) in a gear rim (26) of the internal combustion engine and connecting the starter motor (12) to a DC voltage supply system (30, 31). In order to disconnect the sequence of operations, the device has separate means, in particular separate relays (57, 64; 60), for engaging the pinion (22) on one hand and turning on the starter motor on the other when the internal combustion engine is started, thus preventing reactions of the engagement dynamics on the contact system when the motor current is switched.

  • Patent number: 8368237
Abstract: A starter device for cranking internal combustion engines, that has a terminal for starter control, having an electric starter motor, there being an electric supply line from a plus terminal of the starter device to the plus terminal of the starter motor, and the starter motor having an electrical ground return line at a minus terminal of the starter device, in which the ground return line is interrupted by a switch in the case of an electrical potential-free terminal for the starter control.
