  • Patent number: 9726590
Abstract: The application provides a device for measuring at least one parameter value of a suspended sediment of a fluid. The device includes a backscattering transducer module, a storage unit, and a calculation unit. The backscattering transducer module comprises a source module and a receiver module. The source module transmits at least three acoustic signals with different fixed characterizing measurement frequencies while the receiver module measures at least three echo level values of echo signals, which correspond with the at least three acoustic signals. The storage unit stores a data set of pre-determined echo level values with a data set of pre-determined suspended sediment parameter values. The calculation unit derives at least one suspended sediment parameter value from the data sets and the at least three echo level values.

  • Publication number: 20150127275
Abstract: The application provides an acoustic flow meter for a fluid conduit. The flow meter has one or more acoustic transmitter and receiver pairs, a holder, an interface unit, and a computer module. The acoustic transmitter and receiver pair measures a flow speed value of a fluid in the fluid conduit. The holder fixes the acoustic transmitter and receiver pair to the fluid conduit. The interface unit receives a type data, a position data, and an orientation data of a fluid disturbance element, and a position data and an orientation data of the acoustic transmitter and receiver pair. The computer module has a memory unit, a processor, an output device. The memory unit stores a relationship data set. The processor computes a flow rate of the fluid by using the relationship data set type. The output device outputs the flow rate.

  • Patent number: 8600090
Abstract: A hearing aid may include a hearing aid housing. The hearing aid housing may include a first housing wall portion and a second housing wall portion. The first housing wall portion has a first flexibility, the second housing wall portion has a second flexibility and the first flexibility is different than the second flexibility.

  • Patent number: 7742612
Abstract: The training of a hearing aid for individual Situations is intended to be simpler and more comprehensive for the hearing aid wearer. The invention therefore provides for the hearing aid wearer just to have to associate a current acoustic Situation with a predetermined hearing Situation identification (3?). This association is learnt by a classifier, for example a neural network (5). After the training process, the neural network (5) can then reliably associate the corresponding hearing Situation identification (3?) with an acoustic input Signal (2). A current Parameter Set (4?) is varied or supplemented appropriately on the basis of this association.

  • Publication number: 20080205678
Abstract: Supplying energy into a hearing apparatus in order to charge its rechargeable battery is to be carried out by way of components, which take up as little space as possible. Components, which are mostly already present, are thus used for the energy supply. Energy is inductively injected into the coil of a receiver, into a data transmission coil or a telephone coil for instance. Alternatively, acoustic energy can also be injected via the receiver or microphone and converted there into electrical energy. Special components need then not be provided for the energy supply process.

  • Patent number: 7324650
Abstract: The correct recognition of the auditory situation “television” often poses a problem for hearing aid devices with automatic situation recognition, since a plurality of real situations are simulated by the television audio signal. To correctly recognize the situation “television”, the invention therefore provides to detect a line signal with a particular line signal frequency output by the television device, and given the existence of such a line signal to automatically implement the auditory situation “television”.

  • Publication number: 20050059904
Abstract: The object is to allow the adjustment of hearing aids without the use of sound-insulated acoustic booths. For this purpose provision is made for estimating a sound pressure level in front of the eardrum (5) from the sound pressure level in front of the hearing aid (2). Acoustic masking is determined from the estimated sound pressure level in front of the eardrum by means of a psycho-acoustic model. The actually measurable hearing range of the patient and therefore the optimum adjustment of the hearing aid can then in turn be determined from this.
