Abstract: A handle for a craft knife that is configured to securely hold a cutting blade by forming a friction fit with the cutting blade and without engaging with a hole or notch in the cutting blade. The craft knife handle includes a blade slot recess that is formed with a ridge or tapered section that is adapted to abut with the edges of the cutting blade that are inserted into the blade slot. The craft knife handle also includes a collar that engages with the handle body of the craft knife handle to secure the cutting blade within the blade slot. The craft knife handle may also incorporate a no-roll design with at least one facet of the handle being flat.

Abstract: A utility knife configured with a retractable cutting blade that is extended and retracted by a blade actuation mechanism. The blade actuation mechanism includes a slider button assembly and a blade carriage assembly that are operably connected in variety of configurations, including a configuration with a rack-and-pinion arrangement between the slider button assembly and the blade carriage assembly. The rack-and-pinion blade actuation mechanism is configured to automatically retract the cutting blade as the cutting blade is lifted from the cutting surface.

The handle has a weight positioned in it eccentric to the central axis thereof, so that when rolled on a flat surface the handle consistently returns to the same position relative to the flat surface.

Abstract: Disclosed is a food peeler comprising a conical shaped handle having a longitudinal axis, a head containing a blade holder affixed to the top of the handle, the head having an axis transverse to the axis of the handle, the head comprising an elongated member with a recessed inner section, defining opposed vertically situated walls on opposite sides of the recessed inner section. The walls have flat inner surfaces, and vertically oriented projections extending from the surfaces thereof, and an orifice in the upper section of each wall, a blade mounted within a blade holder positioned within the recessed inner section, the blade comprising a flat elongated member having one exposed sharp edge, the blade holder further having a pin at each end thereof, each pin adapted to fit within one of the orifices of the walls to secure the blade holder in place.

Abstract: Disclosed is a food peeler that has a longitudinally aligned conical body having upper and lower sections, and a recess in the upper half thereof in which a blade is rotatably mounted. The recess defines an area having a flat base and opposed, parallel, vertical sides. The blade is fixed to a blade holder that is rotatably mounted between the opposing vertical sides of the recess. The position of the blade holder can be reversed thereby enabling the peeler to be used by a right handed or left handed person.
