  • Patent number: 9636540
Abstract: Elliptical exercise machines with a footskate on a reciprocating rail that provides for the ability to alter the horizontal stride of the user utilizing the machine, without significantly altering their vertical stride height on the machine. This is generally performed by altering the angle through which any point on the rail can, and does, move. Such adjustment may be performed by having the rail attached to a swing arm, where the arc of rotation of the swing arm relative to the frame is altered.

  • Publication number: 20160263426
Abstract: A handgrip which has two terminating ends that does not connect with the other components to form a closed loop but instead form an open loop in the form of a “C”, inverted “C”, “U”, or inverted “U” depending on the side of the exercise machine the grip is to be used on and the manner of viewing it. This is commonly referred to as an open structure as this provides for a handgrip which does not fully circumscribe an area. It only partially circumscribes an area and creates a structure with two terminating ends on each handle.

  • Patent number: 7536889
Abstract: An improved rotary rolling or bead rolling machine capable of placing beads, crimps, flanges, turns, burrs, elbows, slits, offsets, collars, flats, or other deformations in sheet material. The machine provides a foot operated roller force and motor control and allows an operator to utilize two hands to manipulate the sheet material placed between the rollers. The machine utilizes an air spring or air-stroke actuator to provide substantial roller force in a small volume. The machine further provides roller adjustability whereby a roller may be displaced relative to another roller.

  • Patent number: 7267512
Abstract: A power assisted drill press having a feed cylinder fed by a variable pressure regulator which allows a user to controllably feed a bit and work material together while activating a drill motor to rotate the bit. An embodiment of the power assisted drill press utilizes a suction cup and venturi system for attachment of the press to a surface work material. The drill press uniquely allows a person to variably activate the feed cylinder and also activate the drill motor with a single hand.

  • Patent number: 7114436
Abstract: A safety interlock and retraction mechanism for all types of presses comprising a sensing or activating valve which does not apply full force to a press ram until the ram displaces to the expected work material thickness and a pneumatically operated retraction mechanism which eliminates the need for a return spring. The art differentiates between the thickness of an operator's finger relative to a work material thickness in order to promote safety. The art further provides an increased press ram force by eliminating the return spring force subtracting from the ram force.

  • Patent number: 6220581
Abstract: A bicycle seat gas spring adjustment system removably inserted into a bicycle seat tube, between the bottom bracket and the seat post. The gas spring action providing a counteracting force to a portion of the rider's body weight by which the rider can adjust the height of the seating surface by changing the proportion of body weight placed onto the seating surface of the bicycle, thereby moving the seating surface to a desired position.

  • Patent number: 4993688
Abstract: An automobile pneumatic jack system that can be easily attached to all currently manufactured automobile chassis and frames. There is a front suspension pneumatic jack that is mounted centrally to the front suspension of an automobile between its front wheels. There is also a rear suspension pneumatic jack that is mounted centrally to the rear suspension of the automobile between its rear wheels. The system operates from a compressed air reservoir tank that has connections for the front and rear car jack outlets. Additional outlets can be added to the compressed air reservoir tank for connecting a pneumatic lug wrench and another for a tire inflating hose. A further option to the system could include a connection to the master brake cylinder such that when the car is locked, the compressed air is applied to the braking system to lock the brakes hard on for an anti-theft feature.

  • Patent number: 4163468
Abstract: For thrusting perpendicular to a tire to demount it, or similar purposes, a hydraulic cylinder bearing a thrust shoe is pivotably mounted, by trunnion pins on its casing, to a support frame beneath a slotted platform. A forward arm and follower assembly pivots on the trunnion pins and extends diagonally forward normally to bear on the hydraulic cylinder casing; while a similar aft arm and follower assembly likewise pivots on the trunnion pins, extending aft and normally bearing on the opposite side of the hydraulic cylinder casing. Corresponding portions of these aft and forward assemblies are connected by coil springs; their inward pivotal movement is limited by a stop on the support frame; thus they constantly urge the hydraulic cylinder toward upright position. To correct angular drifting of the actuator rod, its shoe has a downward projecting centering shield having a tapered tip which engages a platform slot when the hydraulic cylinder is retracted, rotating the shoe to its proper position.

  • Patent number: 4038128
Abstract: A compact machine for measuring, cutting and applying insulation blanket material onto sheet metal workpieces as they flow along a conveyorized lower line. The blanket material flows along an upper path. A flying shear mechanism, which travels a short distance along this path, is driven downstream when the trailing edge of a workpiece is sensed. Rack and sector mechanism brings the shear to an incisive stop at its downstream cutting position when the shear blade strikes its cutting block; hence the kinetic energy of the downstream movement is utilized for shearing. The shear remains in downstream position, to serve as a gage for starting the blanket material, until a sensor in the lower flow path senses the leading edge of the next sheet metal workpiece; this raises the shear blade and moves the shear mechanism to upstream position. A pneumatic system accurately times the cut-off mechanism to match the shearing of the blanket material to the length of the workpiece, leaving a margin if desired.

  • Patent number: 4031941
Abstract: In that type of apparatus for mounting large size off-highway pneumatic tires on drop-center rims, in which two bead deflectors are moved simultaneously in opposite senses along semi-circular paths, the deflector arms are mounted on the upper ends of concentric shafts having gears at their lower ends, the inner shaft projecting below the outer shaft, each being engaged by an inward facing rack member positioned at suitable height. The two rack members are driven together by a linear actuator whose thrust is reacted through bushings mounted on the shafts above and below the gears. Hence the actuator force which turns the arms imposes no bending moment on the vertical sleeve or platform structure.

  • Patent number: 4024784
Abstract: In that type of sheet metal shear having upper and lower rotary cutters to which power is supplied, both to cut a sheet of metal overhanging a work table edge and to propel the shear along the line of cut, unexpected capacity is achieved. The upper and lower cutters are powered each with separate motor. The cutters are driven through bevel gear sets; the upper motor is positioned with clearance above the work table, with its shaft slanting downward to the bevel gear intersection. Using the separate upper motor eliminates the transmission of power along and across the upward slanting bridge portion of the frame aft of the cutters. With this function eliminated, the bridge portion may be lower, requiring less power to deflect the scrap being cut off. With this saving of power added to the saving from using the efficient bevel gear sets, heavier gauge sheets are slit with less power than heretofore required for thinner sheets.

  • Patent number: 4014375
Abstract: In that type of apparatus for mounting the largest sizes of pneumatic tires on drop-center wheels, where thrust is applied slantingly to drive one of the tire beads into the drop-center of the wheel preparatory to use of contra-rotating bead deflectors, the present invention provides for applying and manipulating such thrust forces with exceptional ease. Two hydraulic struts of equal size are mounted in a vertical plane, with their pistons extending to fittings on a common lateral shaft. The fitting of one actuator is a clevis which surrounds the fitting of the first. Their remote ends are spaced vertically, so that the thrust at the shaft is reacted truss-like by the triangulated cylinders. On the lateral shaft is mounted a thrust shoe, whose angle may be fixed perpendicular to either actuator; or it may be varied relative to one of the actuators by a hydraulic motor. By varying the length of the extension of the actuators, the shoe is moved at any chosen direction in the vertical plane.
