  • Patent number: 10980644
Abstract: An expandable cage for placement between adjacent vertebrae having two or more upper and lower end plates having compound-angled slots, ramps or rails, and a drive means having corresponding compound-angled slots, ramps or rails configured to slidingly engage the compound-angled slots, ramps or rails of the two or more upper and lower end plates, wherein movement of the drive means in a first direction moves the two or more upper and lower end plates away from each other both vertically and horizontally to expand both a height and a width of the expandable cage from a collapsed state to an expanded state.

  • Publication number: 20210085488
Abstract: A fixation member inserter instrument attaches to an interbody spacer and assists in the insertion of the interbody spacer into the intravertebral spacer. The distal end of the fixation member inserter instrument includes a fixation member guide with two or more fixation members that is configured to simultaneously deliver the two or more fixation members during the fixation member impaction process. The interbody spacer is attached to the inserter instrument by a threaded rod adjacent to the main body of the fixation member inserter instrument. There is an impaction rod extending through the device which connects to the two or more fixation members in the fixation member guide. When the impaction rod is impacted on a proximal end, the distal end contacts the two or more fixation members simultaneously and forces them into the vertebral body at the same time.

  • Publication number: 20210085370
Abstract: A compressor/distractor instrument that provides internal set screw engagement for threaded reduction capabilities while also providing bending support of the screw extenders during compression or distractor manipulation. Threaded reduction is performed by engaging compressor/distractor support tubes at the proximal end with a compressor/distractor driver. A removable locking pull pin secures the left and right handles of the compressor/distractor driver together during use, and removal of the pin releases the compression and tension built up in the device for ease of removal.

  • Patent number: 10932822
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to an occipital plate for fixating the occipital/cervical junction between cranium and the spine configured to provide multi-axial adjustment for the rod connectors including Anterior/Posterior movement, Medial/Lateral movement and Converging/Diverging movement. Some embodiments of the present invention use a variety of components to achieve a range of motion in several different axes. This extended range of motion allows the plate to adapt to the surrounding anatomy as well as making it more facile to adapt to a posterior rod fixation system.

  • Publication number: 20200375631
Abstract: A spinal screw assembly providing an adjustable securement of a fixation rod across at least two vertebrae. The assembly includes a pedicle screw having a spherical head portion, a threaded shaft portion and a tool engagement surface in the head portion for use in driving the screw into a vertebrae. The head portion of the screw is positioned in a body member adjacent a curvilinear surface disposed about an aperture in the end of the body member such that the shaft portion of the screw extends therethrough and the curvilinear inner surface abuts and mates with the head portion of the screw so as to define a ball joint therewith. The body member additionally defines a pair of opposed parallel slots therein adapted to receive a portion of the fixation rod and a locking cap bears against the fixation rod to releasably secure the rod within the assembly.

  • Publication number: 20200093521
Abstract: A rod reducer designed to deliver a set screw by way of a decoupled ram and driver shaft. The driver shaft secures and delivers the set screw while the ram applies the load to the rod for reduction. By separating the ram and driver, the rod is reduced down below the start of the female threads, allowing for the set screw to be started by the driver, avoiding binding and additional steps.
