  • Patent number: 6051897
Abstract: A solenoid is provided having a housing with a housing bore with a central axis. The housing bore opens at an opening in the housing at a first end. The solenoid further has an actuator extending from the opening, and which is sized to movably slide within the housing bore and within the opening along the central axis. A biasing member is provided in the solenoid for cooperating with the actuator and for biasing the actuator in a direction along the central axis. The solenoid also has an indicator positioned within the housing. The indicator cooperates with the actuator for relative movement therewith, and has an indicator path. An indication receiver is positioned within the housing, and located adjacent the indicator and the indicator path, for generating a signal that is representative of the position of the indicator and the position of the actuator. A method of manufacturing the solenoid is also provided, and includes the step of aligning the indication receiver within a recess in the housing.

  • Patent number: 5147114
Abstract: The electrically controllable pressure medium brake comprises an electric pressure means (EP) converter (1) to convert an electrical brake request signal into a brake pressure. By way of an emergency brake valve (1), this brake pressure (in the normal case) and a vehicle load-dependent emergency brake pressure limited by a limiting valve (12) (in an emergency), is fed to the brake cylinder (14). For vehicle load-dependent limitation of the emergency brake pressure, a second EP converter (1a) generates from a vehicle load-dependent, electrical signal a vehicle load-dependent pressure medium pressure, which is stored in a pressure medium reservoir (18) and is fed to the limiting valve (12) in order to control it. The second EP converter (1a) is closed in the currentless state, during a power failure, whereby the vehicle load-dependent pressure medium pressure is preserved and the limiting valve (12) can thus continue to limit the emergency brake pressure as a function of the vehicle load.

  • Patent number: 5045765
Abstract: A process and arrangement for the ventilation of the interior of a motor vehicle is provided, whereby the motor vehicle has a ventilating device and a roof having at least one roof opening which can be opened and closed by displacement of at least one cover by means of an actuating device, like in a sliding roof, a sliding-lifting roof, a lifting roof, a spoiler roof, a folding roof, or the like, and whereby the ventilation device and actuating device for the roof cover are operatively connected in such a way that, when the roof is at least partially opened, the ventilation device of the vehicle is automatically activated to increase ventilation of the vehicle interior, which activation can be effected in corresponding ventilation stages.

  • Patent number: 4826232
Abstract: Hollow chamber seal for sealing an edge gap between an edge of a fixed roof section and a movable cover of a vehicle roof in which both a deformation of the hollow chamber and an additional deformation of the seal are possible to compensate for the gap tolerances. In accordance with preferred embodiments, to produce the additional deformation, at least one hollow chamber part is connected to a sealing body for pivotal movement around a bending axis that extends substantially parallel to the major surfaces of the cover in a direction parallel to the edge of the cover.
