  • Patent number: 7124040
Abstract: In a method of monitoring a fuel cell unit, at least one pair of measured values, including a measured current value and a measured voltage value (Iactual, Uactual) are determined at the outputs of the fuel cell unit. The measured voltage value (Uactual) is compared with a limit value (PG), which is a function of the measured current value (Iactual) by way of a limit characteristic polarization curve. It is concluded that the condition of the fuel cell unit is faulty when the measured voltage value (Uactual) or a function of the measured voltage value is smaller than or equal to a predefined threshold value.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 13, 2004
Date of Patent: October 17, 2006
    Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AG
Inventors: Thorsten Engelhardt, Richard Fosmoe, Wolfgang Weiss

  • Patent number: 6609051
Abstract: A method and system for an improved vehicle monitoring system in order to provide a cost-effective and scalable system design for industrial application through the use of machine learning and data mining technologies on data acquired from a plurality of vehicles to create models. Frequent acquisition of vehicle sensor and diagnostic data enables comparison with the created models to provide continuing analysis of the vehicle with respect to repair, maintenance and diagnostics.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 10, 2001
Date of Patent: August 19, 2003
    Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AG
Inventors: Claude-Nicolas Fiechter, Mehmet H. Göker, Daniel Grill, Rainer Kaufmann, Thorsten Engelhardt, Achim Bertsche
