  • Patent number: 11924038
Abstract: A method in a User Plane Function (UPF) comprising receiving from a Policy Control Function (PCF), an instruction to create a new Packet Detection Rule (PDR), the instruction comprising an IP address for the wireless device, a value of a ToS field, and a quality-of-service, QoS, reference or charging policy. The method further comprises storing the IP address, the value of the ToS field, and the QoS reference or charging policy as a predetermined PDR. The method further comprises subsequently receiving, from a wireless device, a first packet targeted to an application server, AS, mapping the first packet to the predetermined PDR, based on a value of a ToS, field in the first packet, and adding a 5-tuple associated with the first packet to the predetermined PDR. This serves to bind the new connection to the PDR.

  • Patent number: 11800200
Abstract: A media distribution system and method wherein a media streaming network includes a media ingest network portion configured to provide low latency uploading of media fragments of a segmented live media stream using HTTP chunked transfer encoding (CTE). In one embodiment, one or more fragments of a segment are uploaded or otherwise ingested on a chunk-by-chunk basis before entire media data of the segment becomes available. An IP multicast distribution network portion coupled to the media ingest network portion is operative for distributing chunked media data to one or more IP multicast recipients using an IP multicast protocol. A client application is operative to download the media data in an HTTP CTE delivery session with a serving IP multicast recipient.

  • Publication number: 20230336969
Abstract: A method for collecting user equipment (UE) data includes performing, at a network data analytics function (NWDAF), discovery of an application function (AF) for data collection. The discovery is based on the received request. The method subscribes to the AF for data collection at the NWDAF, and determines by the AF, one or more target UEs for data collection. The method performs discovery of a policy control function (PCF) by the AF, and sends a policy from the PCF to the one or more target UEs. The method establishes an association between at least one of the one or more target UEs and the AF, instructs the one or more target UEs to collect data and to send the collected data to the AF, and sends the collected data from the AF to the NWDAF.

  • Patent number: 11703942
Abstract: A system, method, and Head-Mounted Display, HMD, apparatus for recording a video and playing back the video to a viewer in a Virtual Reality, VR, environment. A geographical area is recorded with an omnidirectional video recording camera by dividing the geographical area into a plurality of area portions and recording in separate video sections, each of the area portions while moving the camera in different directions. Time points in each video section are associated with virtual locations of the view. At a time point providing the viewer with a choice of directions to proceed, the system receives the viewer's choice and presents to the viewer, a video section corresponding to the virtual location of the viewer and the desired direction of movement. The viewer's choice may be indicated by detecting a direction of the viewer's field of view or by receiving from the viewer, a response to a banner notification.

  • Patent number: 11553154
Abstract: Methods and arrangements in a client node and a server node support a decision on decoding and playout of a certain content in the client node. The methods and arrangements relate to the determining, conveying and obtaining of information related to the characteristics (level) required for decoding and playing out the certain media content at a non-regular playout rate. The method and arrangement in the client node further relate to determining, based on the obtained information, which playout rate(s) is/are supported by the client node in regard of level. The methods and arrangements enable the client node to refrain from attempting to decode and play out of the content at a non-regular rate requiring a level which is not supported by the client node.
