    Abstract: In an embodiment of the invention, a bottom seal of a plastic bag is strengthened by welding together 8 layers of plastic film. In one respect, an embodiment of the invention provides an apparatus configured to weld together 8 layers of plastic film on a bottom edge of a folded bag, and then unfold the bag. The apparatus may also stack multiple unfolded bags into a bag pack.

    Abstract: A method of forming a load for transportation comprising the steps of: i) placing a base member on a flat surface, wherein the base member is wider than the intended width of the load; ii) forming a base layer of the load on the base member such that a side flap of the base member extends beyond each side of the base layer, wherein the base layer defines at least two channels for receiving forks of a forklift truck or other lifting device; iii) building a partial load, less than the intended maximum height, on top of the base layer iv) folding the side flaps of the base member around the partial load; v) building the remainder of the load on top of the folded base member; and vi) securing the completed load for transportation.

    Abstract: Synthetic polyolefin films of one or more layers, wherein each layer may be of a different thickness and a different formulation. The films consist of a polyolefin resin and a suitable mineral filler of at least three microns in particle size. The films are particularly useful as a masking material in paint overspray protection systems and may be used to protect a finished surface from moisture and/or ultraviolet radiation. The films posses the advantage that their use does not result in staining or ghosting on the protected or masked surface.
