  • Patent number: 11519407
Abstract: A dual vane pump system includes first and second vane pumps having first and second rotors with a plurality of vanes moving radially inwardly and outwardly of the first and second rotors, and into contact with an inner surface of the first and second outer liners. A first pre-pressurization passage connects a first pump inlet in the first pump that is at discharge pressure to a second pump outlet in the second pump which is upstream of the second discharge opening. There is a coupling connecting the first and second rotors for rotation together. The pre-pressurization passage extending through the bearing.

  • Patent number: 11143183
Abstract: A gear pump could be said to include a first gear and a second gear intermeshed with the first gear. An inlet side is configured to have an inlet connection connected thereto. A discharge side is configured to have a first discharge connection connected thereto. At least one shaft is in operable communication with each of the first and second gears. A bearing is configured to support at least one of the shafts via an inner bore and having an outer peripheral surface. A valve bore is formed into bearing between the inner bore and the outer peripheral surface. A second discharge connection is formed into the bearing. A tap provides fluidic communication between the valve bore and a pad defined in the inner bore. A valve is positioned in the valve bore. The valve includes a moving valve member. A spring biases the moving valve member in a direction toward the second discharge connection. A fuel pump system is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8668480
Abstract: A vane liner for use in a vane pump has a vane liner body defining an inner bore for providing a cam surface in a vane pump. The cam surface has a suction opening formed through the body at one circumferential extent, and a discharge opening through the body at a distinct circumferential extent. A pre-pressurization opening extends through the body at a location upstream of an upstream end of the discharge opening, but spaced by at least 90 degrees from a downstream end of the suction opening. A vane pump incorporating the above-discussed liner is also claimed. Further, a vane pump is also disclosed and claimed having the spacing from the downstream end of the suction opening at least X degrees wherein X equals 360 divided by N, N being the number of vanes in the vane pump.

  • Publication number: 20120006137
Abstract: An accessory gearbox assembly for an aircraft includes one or more intermeshed gears disposed in a gearbox housing and configured to transfer rotational energy from an engine core. An accessory component has a spur gear located at least partially in an accessory housing. The spur gear is meshed with a gear of the one or more gears thereby transferring rotational energy from the gearbox to the accessory component. A method for providing rotational energy to an accessory component at an accessory gearbox includes providing rotational energy to one or more intermeshed gears of an accessory gearbox and locating an accessory component at the accessory gearbox. The accessory component includes a spur gear disposed at least partially in an accessory housing. The spur gear is meshed with a gear of the one or more gears and rotational energy is transferred to the accessory component via the spur gear.
