  • Patent number: 6968175
Abstract: A method and system for revenue sharing between mobile operators and content providers. The content providers, through a data network, provide data services to the end users of the mobile operators. For the data services, the content providers are paid by the mobile operators based on the revenue collected by the mobile operators from the end users using the services. An intermediate proxy is disposed between a mobile operator and the data network to keep track of the data amount transmitted by the content providers and the users and to keep track of the revenue sharing agreements established between that mobile operator and the content providers. Additionally, an intermediate proxy is linked to each content provider to keep track of the data amount transmitted to the end users via a mobile operator and to keep track of the revenue sharing agreement with that mobile operator.

  • Publication number: 20050136957
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for setting up a communication session between a first peer inside a mobile network, and a second peer outside that mobile network. Contact is established from the second peer to a connection broker responsible for brokering various connections with the first peer, and the second peer requests from the connection broker a connection to the first peer. The connection broker determines whether the first peer is reachable, and finds out what costs, if any, would be borne by the first peer or the second peer or both, in order to pay for a lease of at least the connection requested by the second peer. Then the communication session is set up via the connection, if the first peer is reachable and the costs are acceptable.

  • Publication number: 20040075675
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method to allow provisioning of services and execution of those services at the mobile terminal. Services may be locally, remotely or manually provisioned within a mobile terminal and may be viewed by an end user of the mobile terminal after being filtered by context. The filtered list of services being accessible from a service panel of the mobile terminal, whereby the mere selection of the service allows execution of the service at the mobile terminal using the appropriate underlying communication technology with no further interaction required from the end user.

  • Publication number: 20030145044
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for sharing information about an end user of a mobile terminal with an applications node in a wireless network, in which a virtual terminal arranged between the mobile terminal to the applications node provides end user information about the end user of the mobile terminal to the applications node from a centralized point. The mobile terminal stores end user information and has a mobile terminal user interface for managing the provision of the end user information. The mobile terminal also stores end user rules or preferences controlling how different types of the end user information can be used and to whom the end user information can be given in the wireless network. The end user of the mobile terminal also requires manual confirmation so that the end user will be prompted each time certain end user information is requested by the applications node. The mobile terminal user interface manages these end user rules and preferences.

  • Patent number: 6556835
Abstract: In a method for multicasting in a radio network, having at least one base station and multiple mobile terminals, the broadcast message is broadcast from the base station, and the broadcast message is received at the mobile terminals. Furthermore, a broadcast message is formulated as a multicast message, and a token is delivered to a selected group of mobile terminals. The token is needed to recover the information of the multicast message. The selected group of mobile terminals includes at least two mobile terminals. The token is used by the selected group of mobile terminals to allow the reception and recovery of the multicast message.

  • Publication number: 20020155828
Abstract: A method of configuring a service (SE) for a mobile station (MS). The mobile station (MS) is able to store directory entries (DE) comprising a name field (41) and telephone number field (42). A service configuration application (SC) receives (2-2) the user's preference information and generates (2-4) a service configuration string (310). It formats (2-6′) a directory entry (DE) such that its name field (41) comprises a service description (312) and the telephone number field (42) comprises the configuration string (310). The directory entry (DE) is stored (2-10) to the mobile station (MS). One of several predefined configuration strings may be selected (5-2) by means of the name field (41). The service (SE) can be configured by placing a call (5-4) to the configuration string stored in the telephone number field.

  • Patent number: 6449473
Abstract: The invention related to method for providing connection security for the transmission between communicating parties in a telecommunication network, the method comprising the steps of: exchanging security parameters between communicating parties, providing connection security for messages based on these security parameters, and transmitting said messages between communicating parties. It is characteristic for the method according to the invention that it further comprises the steps of: reaching agreement between communicating parties on an interval for recalculation of the security parameters, monitoring of the interval for recalculation by the communicating parties, recalculating the security parameters at the agreed interval, and providing connection security for messages based on the latest recalculated security parameters.

  • Patent number: 6081601
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of providing connection security for a connection between terminals in a wireless network. In the method data is transmitted from a first terminal (MS1) via nodes in the network to a second terminal (MS2). The method according to the invention is characterized by that it includes the steps of: routing the transmitted data via a mediator (MD), using the first security method for providing connection security at the security protocol layer between the first terminal (MS1) and the mediator (MD), using the second security method for providing connection security at the security protocol layer between the mediator (MD) and the second terminal (MS2), and performing the security method conversion at the security protocol layer at the mediator (MD).
