    Abstract: It is an objective of the present invention to reduce processing loads for video analysis utilizing information throughout the facility. A video monitoring system according to the present invention simulates a flow of a moving object within a video captured by multiple monitoring cameras, calculates a parameter correlated with a processing load for movement analysis of the moving object according to the simulation result, and specifies a processing scheme that is capable of reducing the processing load according to a correspondence relationship between the parameter and the simulation result (refer to FIG. 2).

    Abstract: An image search system comprising an video taking unit that takes a video, a search unit that contains a processor and a storage unit and searches for an image contained in the video, an input unit that receives information that is input to the search unit, and a display unit that displays information that is output from the search unit. The storage unit holds information indicating the shapes of trajectories that represent the travel paths of a plurality of moving objects extracted from the video. When information indicating the shape of a trajectory is input from the input unit, the search unit searches the plurality of moving-object trajectories held in the storage unit for trajectories that are similar to the input trajectory shape, and if such a trajectory is found, the search unit displays, on the display unit, images of the moving objects that have traveled along the found trajectories.

    Abstract: A face horizontal direction measuring unit measures the angle of the face horizontal direction for a face image obtained by an imaging unit. By using information on the radius of the head and information on the shoulder position of the person obtained by the aforementioned measurement, a face vertical displacement measuring unit measures a face displacement in the vertical direction not affected by a head posture. According to the obtained displacement, the face angle in the vertical direction is decided. By using the obtained face direction, the angle of the gaze in the horizontal direction and the eyeball radius are measured. Further, a gaze vertical displacement measuring unit is provided for which measuring the pupil center position against the eyeball center position as the gaze displacement in the vertical direction. This displacement amount is used to measure the gaze angle in the vertical direction.
