    Abstract: Provided are a photon up-conversion film, which is capable, of high-efficiency up-conversion even in air and even when low-intensity light is used, and a simple method of producing the film. The photon up-conversion film according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: a matrix including a resin; and a pore portion, wherein the photon up-conversion film includes at least a sensitizing component capable of absorbing light in a first wavelength region ?1, and a light-emitting component capable of radiating light in a second wavelength region ?2 including wavelengths shorter than those of the first wavelength region ?1, and wherein the sensitizing component and the light-emitting component are present at an interface between the matrix and the pore portion.

A first storage control unit copies data management information about the data in the storage drive to a second storage control unit. When a write request is received from a host after copying of the data management information begins, each of the first storage and second storage control units stores write data related to the write request in a separate storage area of the storage drive.

    Abstract: A gas detector includes metal-oxide semiconductor gas sensors and their driving circuit. The gas detector stores the ratio of initial gas sensor resistance in air and that in an atmosphere including Freon gas, for the gas sensors. The gas detector learns sensor resistance in air for a gas sensor in use and detects Freon gas by comparing the sensor resistance of the gas sensor in use with the learned resistance in air divided by the ratio. When the first gas sensor has been used for a predetermined period, both the first gas sensor and a second gas sensor are used for a learning period to continue detection of Freon by the first gas sensor and to learn the resistance in air of the second gas sensor. After completion of the learning period, Freon is detected by the second gas sensor.
