  • Patent number: 7090352
Abstract: There is provided a safe image display apparatus for projecting an image on a screen that can minimize a stimulus to eyes, retinae and optic nerves from projected light entering into the eyes directly. By comparing a displayed image captured by a camera with an input image signal, a changed area is detected as a difference area and, then, a projected image signal is generated wherein a picture area image signal in the input image signal that corresponds to this difference area is masked by a black signal. The obtained projected image signal is projected onto the screen.

  • Publication number: 20060139954
Abstract: In a drive circuit of light emission device arrays each having at least one light emission device, at least one of the light emission diode arrays is pulse-driven with a pulse of phase different from the other light emission device arrays. While the at least one light emission device array driven with a different phase is OFF, a processing circuit acquires the luminiferous level of each of the other light emission device arrays by using the at least one light emission device array which is OFF as a light reception device. Furthermore, a control circuit controls the drive level of the drive circuit for the light emission device arrays which are ON.

  • Publication number: 20050231650
Abstract: An image display apparatus includes a second converging unit constructed so that a light flux from part of a first light source or from a separately provided second light source is converged to have a line shape, a spectroscope/deflector unit constructed so that his line-shape light flux is irradiated on a region of the display device different from the region on which a strip-shape light flux from a first converging unit is irradiated, and an image processing unit constructed to control so that the pixels of the region of the display device on which the line-shape light flux is irradiated is turned on and off in accordance with image data being displayed.

  • Publication number: 20050094823
Abstract: A low-cost and highly accurate active noise controller provides for low acoustic noise in a projector that makes produces highlight radiance and has a small size. The rotation frequency of a fan used for cooling the apparatus is measured by a rotation speed detector attached to the fan, a base frequency of acoustic noise and its multiple frequencies are calculated from the number of vanes provided on each fan, and target frequencies at which the acoustic noise is actively controlled are specified. An acoustic noise state is taken in from a microphone, a noise level is specified at each specified target frequency, the amplitude of an antiphase wave, that relates to the frequency characteristics of a microphone, a speaker and the inside of the active noise controller (or the projector), is roughly determined, and then a generated wave is emitted from the speaker. Further, for each target frequency, phase compensation is repeated in a time sequential manner, whereby the noise level is minimized.
