  • Patent number: 8603678
Abstract: A positive electrode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery. The positive electrode active material has been manufactured through a mixing step and a heating step. In the mixing step, a mixture is produced by mixing niobium pentoxide (Nb2O5) with lithium hydroxide (LiOH) at a molar ratio of 1:1. In the heating step, the mixture is heated in an atmosphere of air at substantially 800° C. The positive electrode active material having been produced through the mixing process and the heating process causes the plateau potential in a discharge to be approximately 1.0 [V] for lithium. And the nonaqueous electrolyte battery using the positive electrode active material can operate at a voltage of approximately 1.0 [V].

  • Patent number: 8105710
Abstract: A battery 10A with leads has a low-profile external casing acting 11 as one of a pair of electrode terminals and a closure plate 12 acting as the other of the electrode terminals. The closure plate 12 hermetically seals an opening of the external casing 11 via an insulating gasket. A pair of lead plates 13 and 14 are each welded to a different one of the electrode terminals 11 and 12. One of the lead plates 13 and 14 is secured to a circuit board X. The lead plate 14 that is secured to the circuit board has a net-like structure.

  • Patent number: 7625666
Abstract: A lead plate-attached coin-type battery is constituted from a combination of a coin-type battery and a positive lead plate. In the coin-type battery, a negative cap seals the aperture of a positive outer can. In a lateral view, the positive lead plate is crank-shaped, and one end thereof is attached to the outer surface of the positive outer can of the coin-type battery. A lead plate is not attached to the negative cap. One or more projections that project in the Z axis direction are provided on the negative cap. In the lead plate-attached coin-type battery, the positive lead plate and negative cap have been attached to respective conductive lands on a circuit board by a solder reflow method.

  • Publication number: 20090113697
Abstract: A manufacturing method for a battery, including the steps of: preparing a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate which are both belt-like; performing a curving work onto an end of at least one of the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate so that the end has a curvature, the end being located in a longitudinal direction of the plate; and after performing the curving work, performing a winding work by winding the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate with a separator there between all together to produce an electrode assembly. In the winding step, the winding work is performed such that the end having the curvature is wound last in the winding work and such that the curvature curves toward an internal side of the electrode assembly.
