  • Publication number: 20040152626
Abstract: The C&bgr; gene encodes at least 6 different gene products, designated C&bgr;1, C&bgr;2, C&bgr;3, C&bgr;4, C&bgr;4ab and C&bgr;4abc. As is the case with the murine and bovine splice variants, all the human C&bgr; splice variants vary in the N-terminal part preceding the part encoded by exon 2. Homologues to all C&bgr; splice variants identified in mouse and bovine were identified in human (C&bgr;1, C&bgr;2, C&bgr;3 and C&bgr;4) in addition to two novel C&bgr; splice variants (C&bgr;4ab and C&bgr;4abc), that have previously not been identified in any other species. Genomic DNA- and cDNA sequences encode splice variants and include the nucleotide sequences shown in SEQ ID NO: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 respectively. The proteins are new splice variants of the C&bgr; protein.

  • Publication number: 20040106181
Abstract: The cloning of a novel human C&agr; isoform, identified as the human C&agr;-s protein on the basis of its similarity to a recently characterized C&agr; isoform which was identified by purification and peptide sequencing of C&agr; from ovine sperm. The human C&agr;-s protein was present in testis and ejaculated sperm and C&agr;-s localized to the midpiece of human sperm. A cDNA sequence encodes a C&agr;-s protein and includes the specific nucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:1, wherein the protein is a new splice variant of C&agr; catalytic subunit of cAMP dependent protein kinase.

  • Patent number: 5097026
Abstract: Complementary DNA (cDNA) probes or fragments derived from these for human regulatory subunits of cAMP-dependent protein kinases. Human cDNA's for regulatory subunits (RI.alpha. and RII.beta.) of cAMP-dependent protein kinases have been identified and cloned.
