  • Publication number: 20190143146
Abstract: A template matching is performed on two fluoroscopic images by using a template image prepared in advance and a position corresponding to a high matching score is listed as a candidate for the position of a marker 29. From two lists of the candidates of the position of the marker 29, the lengths of common vertical lines for all combinations are calculated. Then, the position of the marker 29 is detected based on the matching score and the common vertical line. Then, based on the detected position of the marker 29, an amount of a proton beam to be irradiated to a target is controlled. Therefore, a tracking target can be accurately detected even when the conditions for X-ray fluoroscopy is severe, e.g., a thick object.

  • Patent number: 9795806
Abstract: Visualizing a deformation amount or displacement amount of a region of interest in therapy rendered in an image upon aligning images used in radiation therapy allows for enhancing an accuracy of alignment. In a positioning system 104, an image processing unit 201 calculates a deformation parameter using a non-rigid registration method for a region of interest having been set by a treatment planning device 101 based on a treatment plan CT image and three-dimensional tomographic image imaged for bed positioning and calculates a displacement amount parameter for a region extracted using a region extraction method. The image processing unit 201 calculates a positioning parameter representing a displacement amount of a bed based on the calculated deformation parameter and displacement amount parameter and displays the respective parameters together with an alignment image, thereby allowing for confirmation of the deformation amount and displacement amount.

  • Patent number: 9750957
Abstract: A charged particle irradiation system is capable of shortening the irradiation time and the treatment time by performing efficient irradiation even when irregular variation occurs in the irradiation object during the gating irradiation. The extraction of the beam is stopped upon reception of a regular extraction permission end signal which is outputted based on a regular movement signal. An extractable state maintaining function operates upon the reception of the extraction permission end signal. When a preset standby time elapses without receiving an extraction permission start signal again during the standby time, the extractable state maintaining function finishes its operation and a charged particle beam generator decelerates the beam. Also, the extraction of the beam is stopped due to reception of an irregular extraction permission end signal during the irradiation. When the extraction permission start signal is received again during the standby time, the extraction of the beam is restarted.

  • Patent number: 9724049
Abstract: A radiotherapy system acquires an image which is necessary for positioning of a patient for radiation treatment and enables grasping of a positional relationship of a target in a treatment radiation irradiated state, a radiation passing area and a critical organ. An X-ray imaging device is attached to the rotatable support device and configured to apply X-rays to the subject from plural directions while rotating around the subject to perform X-ray imaging. A target recognizing device recognizes a three-dimensional position of the target in the subject from X-ray images acquired by the X-ray imaging device; and CT image generating devices are configured to select, from the X-ray images acquired by the X-ray imaging device, the images in which the position of the target recognized by the recognizing device satisfies the treatment radiation irradiation condition for the motion tracking treatment to perform image reconstruction and generate a cone beam CT image.

  • Publication number: 20150217138
Abstract: In a particle therapy treatment planning system for creating treatment plan data, the movement of a target (patient's affected area) is extracted from plural tomography images of the target, and the direction of scanning is determined by projecting the extracted movement on a scanning plane scanned by scanning magnets. Irradiation positions are arranged on straight lines parallel with the scanning direction making it possible to calculate a scanning path for causing scanning to be made mainly along the direction of movement of the target. The treatment planning system can thereby realize dose distribution with improved uniformity.
