  • Patent number: 8250720
Abstract: There is disclosed a roller burnishing apparatus including a first member moved relative to an object to be burnished, a second member movable relative to the first member in a relative movement direction, a burnishing roller held by the second member such that the burnishing roller is rotatable, a biasing device which biases with a biasing force the second member relative to the first member in one of two opposite directions along the relative movement direction, and a pressing-force detecting device that detects a pressing force with which the burnishing roller is pressed against the object and which is based on the biasing force of the biasing device.

  • Publication number: 20080229581
Abstract: Sheave surfaces 11a to 14a of a primary pulley 2 and a secondary pulley 3 contacting a V-belt 4 which is looped around the pulleys 2, 3 are provided with an initial wear height at which a reaction film between the V-belt 4 and the sheave surfaces 11a to 14a does not become worn and a sufficient oil keeping depth to promote generation of the reaction film such that metallic contact does not occur between the sheave surfaces 11a to 14a and the V-belt 4.

  • Patent number: 6348333
Abstract: A novel polypeptide is provided, which can be utilized to treat diseases accompanying neovascularization, such as solid tumors, and is useful as a low molecular weight VEGF inhibitor. The polypeptide contains immunoglobulin-like domain 1 and immunoglobulin-like domain 2 of the extracellular domain of the VEGF receptor KDR. Since it has smaller molecular weight than the conventional polypeptides with retaining VEGF inhibitory activity, it is expected that it can be readily expressed using recombinant DNA techniques and infiltrates into diseased sites more quickly.
