  • Publication number: 20090307342
Abstract: A job execution system comprises a job execution apparatus and a server apparatus interconnected via a network. The server apparatus stores in itself, counter data defining the range of using the job execution apparatus, which is allowed for a user who logs in the job execution apparatus by authentication. The job execution apparatus obtains entirely or partially the counter data of the login user from the server apparatus; returns the counter data that is reduced by job execution to the server apparatus when the user logs out thereof; judges according to conditions set on the job execution apparatus itself, whether or not the counter data returning operation should be suspended; and suspends the counter data returning operation if judges that it should be suspended.

  • Publication number: 20090303503
Abstract: When a printing mode is designated by user operation, an MFP embeds information specifying a storage location in designated stored image data and prints the resultant image data. When a user adds information in handwriting or the like to the above-described printing material, and the printing material after the information is added is scanned, the MFP specifies the storage location from the image data, which is scanned data, and replaces the image data in the above-described storage location by the scanned image data and registers the resultant image data. At the time of the above-described printing, even if the printing condition is set for the image data, the designation of the above-described printing mode allows the printing condition suitable for scanning the printing material to be set.

  • Patent number: 7545527
Abstract: An image processing apparatus has first and second processors for performing first and second processings for image data received by a communication device. A data processing apparatus instructs for the image processing apparatus to execute the first and second processings for image data. When the image data and the instruction therefor are received, the image processing apparatus performs the first and second processings, and sends the image data processed by the second processor to the data processing apparatus, which replaces the received file with the transmitted file.

  • Patent number: 7529938
Abstract: An authentication communication system includes an storage medium having an area for storing digital information and an access device for reading/writing digital information from/into the area. The access device authenticates whether the storage medium is authorized according to a challenge-response authentication protocol in which scrambled access information generated by scrambling the access information which shows the area is used. The storage medium authenticates whether the access device is authorized. When the access device and the storage medium have authenticated each other as authorized devices, the access device reads/writes digital information from/into the area in the storage medium according to the access information separated from the scrambled access information by the access device.

  • Publication number: 20080304660
Abstract: An MFP 1 reads file information and directory information from a mounted medium to calculate a hash value, and encrypts the hash value and a user name of a user logged thereinto to create an authentication key. The authentication key and network information of the MFP 1 are written to the medium, and the hash value is retained in MFP 1 in association with the user name. An MFP 2 reads the above-described information from the mounted medium, and transmits to the MFP 1 the authentication key and a hash value calculated from the file information and the directory information of the medium, to thereby request authentication. Based on a user name obtained by decoding the authentication key, the MFP 1 compares the hash value retained in association with the user name and the hash value transmitted from the MFP 2, and authenticates the user's usage of the MFP 2.

  • Publication number: 20080281837
Abstract: When a user logs in to an MFP and inserts a medium, a serial number of the medium is stored in a device information database in correspondence with user information of the user, and a descramble key, e.g., a hash code of the serial number is registered in the user information. When the medium is removed from the MFP which is still logged in, the registration is deleted. When the MFP into which the medium is still inserted is logged out, no registration is deleted. When the user logs in to the MFP into which the medium is already inserted, the MFP determines whether a descramble key is registered in user information of the user. When a second user logs in to an MFP from which a first user had logged out while forgetting to remove a medium, the MFP prohibits the second user from accessing the medium because no descramble key is registered in user information of the second user.

  • Publication number: 20070194098
Abstract: An image forming device including a document tag reader that detects a contactless IC tag (document tag) attached to the document. If the document tag reader detects a document tag attached to a document, the tagged document is recognized as having a high management level, and a tagged recording sheet is fed (selected) from a sheet tray storing tagged recording sheets to which a contactless IC tag (sheet tag) is attached. On the other hand, if the document tag reader does not detect a document tag, the document is recognized as having a low management level, and a not-tagged recording sheet is fed (selected) from a sheet tray storing not-tagged recording sheets to which a contactless IC tag (sheet tag) is not attached.

  • Patent number: 7062630
Abstract: A storing device can reduce the frequency of the saving operation at a step of rewriting data on the storing mediums. Where q is a size of all the data to write in storing mediums, m is the number of the storing mediums, and p is each block size, a quotient expressed by zm+w+y(z: 0?z (integer); w: 0?w<m (integer); y: 0?y<1) is calculated by dividing q by p. It is configured so that the data for zm blocks is written in parallel on m storing mediums, and then the data for q/p?zm blocks is written on w+1 storing mediums (win the case of y=0).

  • Publication number: 20040190045
Abstract: An image processing apparatus has first and second processors for performing first and second processings for image data received by a communication device. A data processing apparatus instructs for the image processing apparatus to execute the first and second processings for image data. When the image data and the instruction therefor are received, the image processing apparatus performs the first and second processings, and sends the image data processed by the second processor to the data processing apparatus, which replaces the received file with the transmitted file.

  • Publication number: 20040030825
Abstract: A storing device in which the frequency of evacuation of existing data in an erasing step is reduced. With all data, the writing of which is requested from outside, as q, the number of storing mediums as m and the block size as p, the q of all the data is divided by the size p of the block to obtain a quotient zm+w+y (z: 0≦z (integer); w: 0≦w (integer)<m; y: 0≦y<1). And data for zm blocks are written on m pieces of storing mediums in parallel and after that, data for (q−zm) blocks are written on w+1 pieces (w in the case of y=0) of storing mediums. Thus, the frequency of evacuation in erasing can be reduced.
