  • Patent number: 9270968
Abstract: An imaging unit outputs a video signal at a frame rate higher than a standard frame rate. During a zoom operation period or a period including the zoom operation period and periods before and after the zoom operation, a video signal from the imaging unit is recorded in a recording medium at a high recording frame rate. Other than this period, a video signal is recorded in the recording medium at the standard frame rate. The recording frame rate and zoom operation information is recorded as metadata in the recording medium. During reproduction, based on a set reproduction mode, thinning processing is carried out on a video signal recorded during a zoom operation, and the processed signal is output at the standard frame rate. In this way, it is possible to change a frame rate in view of a photographer's intention and assure compatibility with existing viewing and reproduction environments.

  • Publication number: 20150169409
Abstract: An apparatus includes an interface, and a processor. The interface inputs and outputs data from and to a storage device that includes a plurality of memory blocks forming a plurality of RAID groups, and a backup block used as a backup of the plurality of memory blocks. The processor sets as read-out targets a plurality of memory cells included in each memory block. When a memory cell included in a faulty memory block becomes a read-out target, the processor excludes the memory cell that belongs to the RAID group, until restoration of the data of the faulty memory block and copying of the restored data to the backup block are completed. When the copying of the restored data is completed, the processor selects as read-out targets the memory cell that belongs to the RAID group that includes the faulty memory block and a memory cell in the backup block.

  • Patent number: 8949309
Abstract: A communication system is provided that is capable of flexibly dealing with conversations among agents. An agent includes a software part which performs operations that represent the functions of a human ear and a mouth. In generating a conversation, an agent communication language, which is similar to a human conversation, is prepared and sent to a conversation part as a message packet. The conversation part then generates a plurality of conversation threads one for each unit of conversation and converse with a plurality of nodes in parallel and asynchronously. On the other hand, in another node which receives the message packet, a protocol manager receives the data (message packet) from a network and passes it to the conversation part. The conversation part understands the message packet and executes the content. In the preferred embodiment of this invention, the conversation part moves to other places along with a mobile agent.
