  • Patent number: 6848923
Abstract: The write protect detection switch SW1 to detect the slide position of the write protect button 3 is arranged on the side wall portion of the connector housing and the card recognition switch SW2 to detect the presence or absence of the inserted card 1 is arranged inside the card abutment wall of the connector housing. This construction allows the write protect detection switch and the card recognition switch to be accommodated efficiently in a small space.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 18, 2003
Date of Patent: February 1, 2005
    Assignee: Yamaichi Electronics Co., Ltd.
    Inventors: Toshihumi Takada, Toshiyasu Ito
  • Patent number: 6729892
Abstract: A card connector that reliably holds an inserted card with a compact mechanism to prevent the falling of the card due to unexpected external forces. The card 10 is formed with the recess 18 to receive the locking portion. The elastic locking piece 50 is mounted to the eject member 41 that slides together with the card 10 as the card is inserted or retracted. The locking piece guide means 50b, 61 converts the motion of the eject member 41 in the card insertion/retraction direction into the motion of the locking portion 50c of the elastic locking piece 50 toward or away from the card so that the locking portion 50c is engaged in the recess 18 during the card insertion and, during the card ejection, is disengaged from the recess 18.
