  • Patent number: 7406198
Abstract: An image capture apparatus is placed on a desk and an object to be captured is presented above the apparatus. An illumination device can emit light of a plurality of wavelengths, and a camera captures an image of an object to be captured using different wavelengths. By processing an image using different wavelengths, the material of the object to be captured can be obtained. The captured image is compared with a recorded image stored in the image capture apparatus and used in image determination.

  • Patent number: 7327854
Abstract: A capture device placed on, e.g., a desk, includes a camera in the center, and a plurality of distance sensors around the camera. By measuring distances to a capture target by use of the distance sensors, it is determined whether the capture target is held over the capture device in an attitude appropriate for the capture. When the attitude is not appropriate, a user is commanded to change the attitude of the capture target. When the attitude of the capture target becomes appropriate, the camera captures the capture target.

  • Publication number: 20060080547
Abstract: A biometrics authentication device uses biometrics information to perform individual authentication. Primary and secondary verification of biometrics characteristic data from an image capture device are performed by a control unit and IC card. The biometrics character data is scrambled and transmitted between devices. The second registration data which is more important to authentication is stored within the IC card, and first registration data is registered in the IC card in a scrambled state. Security is improved, and moreover the load on the CPU of the IC chip in the IC card is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20050286745
Abstract: A biometrics authentication system uses biometrics information to authenticate individuals. A processing unit acquires biometrics information for the same living body a plurality of times from a detection unit, judges the mutual degree of similarity between biometrics characteristic data sets extracted from the above biometrics information acquired a plurality of times, and registers a plurality of biometrics characteristic data sets with a high degree of similarity in a storage unit. As a result, verification can be performed which accommodates changes in the state of the living body, without lowering verification accuracy.

  • Patent number: 6922651
Abstract: A controller obtains sensor information from sensors mounted on a vehicle running on a road, and an information offer selector allows the driver of the vehicle to select on a screen whether to provide the sensor information to a center apparatus. If the driver allows provision of the sensor information, then the sensor information is transmitted to the center apparatus via radio communications. Thus, only the sensor information that is allowed by the driver is provided to the other vehicles.
