  • Publication number: 20140348500
Abstract: An optical receiver includes a first discriminator in which an optimal point of a slice level is set and that compares a received signal to the slice level and discriminately outputs the received signal; a second discriminator that is connected in parallel to the first discriminator, compares the received signal to a slice level, and discriminately outputs the received signal; and a computing device that variably controls the slice level of the first and the second discriminators, respectively. The computing device executes a first process of setting the slice level of the first discriminator to be a predetermined slice level, calculating a pseudo error rate obtained when the slice level of the second discriminator is caused to variably scan, and setting the slice level of the first discriminator within a range in which the error rate does not vary.

  • Publication number: 20130084065
Abstract: An optical transmitter includes an EA modulator, a photocurrent detection circuit, a modulator drive circuit, and a CPU. The EA modulator converts an input signal into an optical signal and outputs the optical signal. The photocurrent detection circuit detects an optical absorption current (a photocurrent) in the EA modulator. The modulator drive circuit controls the EA modulator. The CPU calculates a voltage to be applied to the modulator drive circuit based on the optical absorption current detected by the photocurrent detection circuit.

  • Publication number: 20120251128
Abstract: An optical transmitter includes: a modulator driver to generate a drive signal from an input signal; a modulator to generate a modulated optical signal according to the drive signal; an amplitude detector to detect an input amplitude representative of an amplitude of the input signal; and a controller to generate a waveform control signal according to the input amplitude detected by the amplitude detector. The modulator driver controls a waveform of the drive signal according to the waveform control signal.

  • Publication number: 20090236502
Abstract: An optical receiver includes an avalanche photodiode inputting light under a bias voltage, a current monitoring unit configured to monitor a photocurrent flowing through the avalanche diode, and a control unit configured to control the bias voltage. When the magnitude of the photocurrent exceeds a specific threshold, the control unit decreases the bias voltage, and when the magnitude of the photocurrent is less than or equal to the specific threshold, the control unit keeps the bias voltage constant. The optical receiver may include a pre-amplifier disposed in series to the avalanche photodiode and configured to amplify the photocurrent. The specific threshold of the photocurrent corresponds to a dynamic range of the pre-amplifier.

  • Publication number: 20090206146
Abstract: A welding jig for holding a motorcycle fuel tank when the fuel tank is welded includes a plurality of attachments for holding said fuel tank through resilient bodies. The plurality of attachments have springs hold the outer plate of a fuel tank, and an inner jig positions an inner plate. The attachments are attached to clamp arms which are opened/closed by cylinders. When the overlap portion between the outer and inner plates is welded, the thermal deformation caused by welding is accommodated by the springs. The attachments are spaced from the fuel tank in the order in which the welding point is approached.

  • Patent number: 7526223
Abstract: A housing in which a heat source for heating a member to be heated is disposable includes a first end and a second end in a longitudinal direction. Each of the first end and the second end is linked to a duct. A blowing unit is provided at the first end of the housing and causes an airflow in a space formed in a state in which the heat source is disposed in the housing. The duct linked to the second end of the housing is formed to extend from the second end. A length of the duct linked to the second end of the housing is longer than a hydraulic diameter by a predetermined number of times or more.

  • Patent number: 7424801
Abstract: A diagnostic system in which the accuracy of the diagnosis of the deterioration state of a catalyst in a catalytic converter for cleaning the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine is enhanced without incurring a rise in cost. The temperature of the catalyst is estimated using the operating-state signal (for example, the flow rate of intake air or the width of a fuel injection pulse) of the engine by a diagnostic device. The conversion efficiency of the catalyst calculated from the outputs of oxygen sensors is corrected using the estimated temperature by the diagnostic device. The deterioration state of the catalyst is diagnosed on the basis of the corrected temperature by the diagnostic device.

  • Patent number: 7389637
Abstract: A diagnostic equipment for an exhaust gas cleaning apparatus installed for an engine, comprising a misfire detector which detects the misfire of the engine, and a secondary-air-system failure detector which detects the failure of a secondary air system. An index corrector corrects a deterioration index calculated by a deterioration-index calculator, in accordance with the detected result of the detector. A deterioration decision unit decides if the diagnostic equipment has failed, by the use of the corrected deterioration index. In a case where the extent of the misfire or the like is severe, a decision interrupter interrupts the decision of the deterioration decision unit. Thus, even when the misfire of the engine or the failure of the secondary air system has occurred, the detection of the deterioration of a catalyst does not err. It is therefore avoided to erroneously replace the catalyst which has not deteriorated yet, or to run the engine in spite of the deterioration of the catalyst.

  • Patent number: 7361385
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a hot-dip plated metal strip comprising the steps of: introducing a metal strip into a molten metal bath of plating metal to adhere the molten metal onto the surface of the metal strip; taking out the metal strip, after turning the running direction of the metal strip, from the molten metal bath without applying external force from outside the surface of the metal strip; adjusting the plating weight of the molten metal adhered onto the metal strip; and controlling the shape of the metal strip using magnetic force in non-contact state directly before or after the step of adjusting the coating weight. The invention prevents adhesion of dross to the metal strip without degrading the productivity, and thus manufactures a high quality hot-dip plated metal strip.

  • Patent number: 7089916
Abstract: In the fuel cylinder injection engine with the supercharging machine, the ignitability deteriorates because the density of the fuel at the spray center becomes excessive due to the shrinkage of the fuel spray under the supercharging. As a result, the density of the smoke and the hydrocarbon exhaust rate increase. The mixture of the fuel and the air under the supercharging is promoted by the control by TCV installed in the suction port which is a divided spray and air flow generation mechanism and the valve timing control of the suction and exhaust valve, etc.
