    Abstract: A ceramic package for a memory semiconductor accommodates therein the memory semiconductor and is sealingly closed by an ultraviolet ray transmissible ceramic lid. The ceramic lid is made of a polycrystalline alumina and formed with at least one groove in a sealing portion with the ceramic package. With the arrangement, the ceramic package is superior in sealing strength, air-tightness and ultraviolet ray transmission and can easily accommodate any increase of memory amount of semiconductor elements.

    Abstract: A ceramic lid for sealing a semiconductor element and having a sealing surface which is to seal a semiconductor element within a recess of a ceramic package, by heating the recess with glass sealant and hermetically sealing the semiconductor element. The ceramic lid is made of alumina of high purity and to the sealing surface of the ceramic lid is applied a glass sealing aid which is pretreated at a higher temperature than the heating temperature for sealing the semiconductor element, before hermetically sealing the semiconductor element in the ceramic package. A method of manufacturing a ceramic lid for sealing a semiconductor element includes the steps of manufacturing the ceramic lid with alumina of high purity having a sealing surface with the recess of the ceramic package, wherein to the sealing surface of the ceramic lid is applied a glass sealing aid of 5-30 .mu.m in thickness onto a sealing surface of the ceramic lid with the ceramic package.

    Abstract: A heater unit comprises a casing through which air flows in one direction from an inlet to outlets. A heater core is disposed within the casing for heating air passing therethrough. An air mix door is also disposed within the casing and has a pivotal end about which it is swingable for controlling the amount of air heated by the heater core and the amount of unheated air bypassing the same. In the above arrangement, air is difficult to pass through the heater core at a place adjacently behind the pivotal end of the air mix door whith respect to the direction of air flow. A tank portion of the heater core is disposed in the place adjacently behind the pivotal end of the air mix door with respect to the direction of air flow.

    Abstract: A transistor protection device in accordance with the present invention includes a base platform consisting of a flat aluminum board for fixing a power transistor with small screws or the like. A supporting plate is placed at a prescribed distance from the base platform, and the base platform and the supporting plate are separated by means of solid heat conducting rods and hollow rods through which are inserted conductors. The heat conducting rods are arranged to have their top ends to make contact with the bottom surface of the power transistor which is the portion of maximum heat production in the power transistor, in order to conduct the heat generated to the outside of the power transistor. Because of the better radiation capability which takes place in relatively thin rods, there are installed a plurality of the heat conducting rods.

    Abstract: A liquid colorant for ABS resins is described, comprising 100 parts by weight of a pigment or dye and 25 to 2,000 parts by weight of a liquid polyester, and having a viscosity of 1,500 poises or less at room temperature. This liquid polyester is prepared mainly from an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and a dihydric alcohol, and usually has a viscosity of 10 to 1,500 poises at room temperture. The liquid colorant has advantages such as (1) the dispersibility of the pigment is good, (2) the colorant can be weighed precisely, (3) the colorant does not deteriorate the appearence of the molded article, and (4) the colorant does not deteriorate the physical properties of the molded article.

    Abstract: A cooling system for a vehicle is configured so as to adjust draft volume to the radiator through which engine cooling water is circulated on the basis of the engine operating condition e.g. the temperature of engine cooling water. The cooling system comprises a plurality of motor-fans for cooling the radiator, engine cooling water sensor means provided at radiator hoses, and operational mode control means responsive to the sensor means to selectively control operational modes including a parallel drive mode, a serial drive mode, a partial or single drive mode and an OFF mode. Thus, a desired power supply control for motor-fans is carried out in accordance with an operational mode selected by the operational mode control means, thereby enabling to finely adjust draft volume to effect a desired cooling of the engine.

Consequently, when a trouble occurs in the electronic control circuit during running in a high-temperature region or low-temperature region, the air conditioning system may immediately be fixed in the maximum cooling or heating operation without intervention of electric circuits.
