Abstract: A composition curable at room temperature has resistance to soiling and maintains its adhesion to substrates when cured. The composition is the product obtained by mixing a polyorganosiloxane having at least two silicon-bonded hydroxyl radicals or two silicon-bonded hydrolyzable groups per molecule, a crosslinking organosilicon compound containing at least two silicon-bonded hydrolyzable groups, and an organosulfonate-containing silicon compound.
Abstract: The water resistance exhibited during the curing of certain moisture curable RTV polyorganosiloxane compositions containing calcium carbonate fillers is significantly increased by treating the calcium carbonate with a hydrophobicizing agent selected from cationic surfactants, nonionic surfactants having HLB values of 10 or less, and organosilanes.
