    Abstract: This invention relates to a mobile communication system having a plurality of radio base stations which respectively form cells/sectors and communicate with mobile units existing in the cells/sectors. A mobile unit transmits, to a radio base station, information by which the position of the mobile unit can be estimated. A radio base station estimates the shape of a cell/sector formed by the radio base station on the basis of information transmitted from a mobile unit. If this system further includes a higher rank station which connects radio base stations, reporting the shape of a cell/sector estimated by a radio base station to the higher rank station will allow a plurality of radio base stations to share the shape of the cell/sector.

    Abstract: A CDMA reception apparatus has a plurality of fingers and performs RAKE reception by RAKE-combining outputs from the plurality of fingers. The apparatus includes a multi-path detecting section and delay profile generating section. The multi-path detecting section detects a multi-path consisting of a plurality of radio waves arriving with some delay times by despreading a reception signal. The delay profile generating section generates a delay profile by obtaining the reception power levels of all reception signals in the multi-path detected by the multi-path detecting section. A difference di in level between the signal having the ith highest level and the signal having the (i+1)th highest level of the data of the delay profile is obtained. The operation of a finger corresponding to a signal having a low level is stopped on the basis of the difference di and a predetermined threshold dTH.

    Abstract: A radio communication apparatus is provided which is capable of carrying out stable radio communication by preventing the phase rotation at the output end by addition of a phase rotation compensation circuit, even when using the apparatus with a bypass circuit. In a bypass circuit which bypasses the transmission final stage amplifier 6, a phase rotation compensating circuit, comprised of a variable capacitance capacitor 9 and a coil 10, and whose cutoff frequency can be adjustable by an adjustment voltage, is inserted in the middle of the bypass route. In order to absorb the individual variation of the transmission final stage amplifiers 6, the phase rotations for the individual amplifiers are measured and stored in the EEPROM 17. Consequently, the present apparatus can be applied to use in the case of changing the gain of the transmission final stage amplifier 6.

In succession, based on the contents of the serviceman positioning memory, the serviceman condition memory and the MFP installation place memory, the service center searches a serviceman who is able to go most fast to the installing place of a MFP to be repaired among servicemen who carry required repair parts, and gives a repair direction to a portable terminal carried by this searched serviceman together the installing place of the MFP and contents of the trouble.
