  • Publication number: 20040056824
Abstract: A stereoscopic image display apparatus which can reproduce two-dimensional images of high resolution corresponding to a number of viewpoints, for displaying a three-dimensional image, by using a minimized number of light sources. The stereoscopic image display apparatus comprises a light deflection member which has a deflection element deflecting a light beam from a light source unit to form a convergence point, and a beam scanning device which two-dimensionally scans the light beam from the light source unit with respect to the light deflecting member. The light deflection member is movable. The movement of the light deflection member is preformed in synchronization with modulation of the light beam by the light source unit and the scanning of the light beam by the beam scanning device.

  • Patent number: 6556542
Abstract: A cell transmitted from a transmitting terminal is multicast to a plurality of receiving terminals. The plurality of receiving terminals respectively transmit B-RM cells to the transmitting terminal. Each of the B-RM cells is assigned an ER value. An ER value calculating unit calculates an average value of the ER values which are respectively assigned to the B-RM cells from the plurality of receiving terminals. A B-RM cell processing unit transfers to the transmitting terminal a B-RM cell to which the ER value calculated by the ER value calculating unit is assigned. The transmitting terminal controls the transmission rate of a multicast communication with the plurality of receiving terminals according to the ER value assigned to the received B-RM cell.

  • Publication number: 20020067356
Abstract: Capturing the rays from emission points A, B, and C on plane P at each of viewing points a, b, c involves finding element images P (a), P (b), and P (c). If the ray entering the viewing point a from the emission point A is denoted as (A-a), the group of rays captured at the viewing point a will be (A-a), (B-a), and (C-a). Similarly, the group of rays (element image P (b)) captured at the viewing point b will be (A-b), (B-b), and (C-b) and the group of rays (element image P (c)) captured at the viewing point c will be (A-c), (B-c), and (C-c). Conversely, when finding an image on plane Q, if the viewing point is placed, for example, at point A, the group of rays that form the element image Q (A) will be (a-A), (b-A), and (c-A), which can be generated by using the first rays in the element images P (a), P (b), and P (c) described above.

  • Patent number: 6285368
Abstract: An image display system includes a display capable of performing mixed display of 2D and 3D images and a host computer for supplying image data to the display. An image source generation unit of the host computer generates image data to be displayed on the display. A 3D display position/area information generation unit generates area information indicating the 3D image area of the image data. A display mode setting unit generates display mode information on the basis of the setting indicating whether to perform mixed display. In the display, when a display mode detection unit detects the execution of mixed display from the display mode information, a 3D display position/area control unit ensures a 3D display area in accordance with the area information, and an image display unit performs mixed display.

  • Patent number: 6226265
Abstract: In a first UPC, a PCR is set as a monitor rate for each connection. If a transfer rate of a cell exceeds the PCR set for the connection, the cell is discarded. In a second UPC, an ACR is set as a monitor rate for each connection. If the transfer rate of the cell exceeds the ACR set for the connection, a lower priority is assigned to that cell. Additionally, with a configuration where one UPC monitors a varying rate, a parameter change process is controlled by obtaining a time between a passage time of a detected B-RM cell and an arrival of a user cell and comparing the obtained time with maximum and minimum delay standard values. A parameter table including some parameters is provided. A header of an arrived cell in a forward direction is extracted, and it is determined whether or not the arrived cell is a violation cell using the leaky bucket algorithm, etc. If the arrived cell is a violation cell, it is discarded.
