A query may be sent to the restaurant computing system using the restaurant network address with the restaurant bill code. In response, the restaurant computing system may send restaurant bill data that includes least one restaurant menu item, a price for the at least one restaurant menu item, and a total bill amount. A unique URL may be created that when entered into a web browser presents a webpage that includes at least the restaurant bill data. The unique URL may be used by the customer to pay the restaurant bill.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for using an advance payment intermediary to accept advance payments at a point of sale device without the point of sale device having a relationship with an advance payment system. For example, a method may include: reviewing a point of sale database having a plurality of restaurant checks for a first restaurant check having a field with an entry that includes a phone number; retrieving from the point of sale database the amount associated with the first restaurant check and the phone number associated with the first restaurant check; creating a webpage that includes details of the first restaurant check having the payment amount associated with the first restaurant check and a one or more payment fields; creating a link to the webpage; and sending the link to the phone number.
