Patent number: 8985534Abstract: A flat panel television console and support kit allows the consumer to employ any of three modes of support, namely stand mount, console mount, and wall mount. The console assembly has upper and lower shelves on upper and lower shelf supports, which are supported between a pair of legs. A bridge receptacle is located on the upper end of each leg. A bridging structure has ends that can be received in the bridge receptacles. A vertical column having a lower end is detachably secured to the bridging structure at a joint so that the vertical column extends upwardly from the bridging structure, providing an elevated support for a flat panel television. A cap structure can be received in the bridge receptacles when the bridging structure is not used, and a flat panel television may be mounted on a stand on the console or on a wall mount.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2013Date of Patent: March 24, 2015Assignee: LF Centennial LimitedInventors: Thomas Barr Hazzard, Tracy Leigh Hazzard

Publication number: 20140239687Abstract: A seat assembly is constructed such that the consumer can secure the base to the seat without using any tools. A consumer inserts a tab at one end of a mounting plate into a slot at one end of a base plate secured to a seat. An opening on the mounting plate is moved to receive a latch on the base plate. An actuator allows the consumer to retract a spring-loaded latch bolt on the latch to move the latch through the opening. The spring-loaded latch bolt then secures the mounting plate against the base plate. In order to limit the ability of the mounting plate to slide with respect to the base plate, projections on the base plate pass through mounting plate apertures. The seat assembly may also include controls for seat height and seat reclining resistance, as well as a seat back.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 22, 2013Publication date: August 28, 2014Applicant: WHALEN FURNITURE MANUFACTURING INC.Inventors: Thomas B. The console assembly has upper and lower shelves, and a vertical column is secured to the console at a joint. A base plate can be fastened to the upper shelf of the console so that a flange on the base plate extends upwardly to support a vertical column that supports a TV mounting frame over the console. Alternatively, when the consumer wishes to mount the TV on the wall or on the console, the base plate can be fastened to the upper shelf in an inverted position so that the upper surface of the upper shelf is substantially flat.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2013Date of Patent: August 26, 2014Assignee: LF Centennial LimtedInventors: Thomas Barr Hazzard, Tracy Leigh Hazzard

Patent number: 8573547Abstract: A ready to assemble chair base includes three leg components. First and second leg components each include two of the five legs, and a third leg component includes a single leg. A hub portion of all three components includes a portion of the central tapered hole. The hub portions of the first and second components join together with vertical interlocking surfaces slidably locking together in the direction of the axis of the central tapered hole. The hub of the third leg component is formed in the shape of a tenon blade and is inserted into a horizontal mortise slot (perpendicular to the axis of the central hole) formed by the interlocked hubs of the first and second leg components. A gas lift post is received into the center, tapered hole of the assembled base locking all three components together.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2012Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: Whalen Furniture Manufacturing, Inc.Inventors: Thomas B.
