  • Publication number: 20200335179
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention provides a method for determining a patient-specific probability of disease. The method collects clinical parameters from a plurality of patients to create a training database. A fully unsupervised Bayesian Belief Network model is created using data from the training database; and, the fully unsupervised Bayesian Belief Network is validated. Clinical parameters are collected from an individual patient; and, such clinical parameters are input into the fully unsupervised Bayesian Belief Network model via a graphical user interface. The patient-specific probability of the healing rate of an acute traumatic wound is output from the fully unsupervised Bayesian Belief Network model and sent to the graphical user interface for use by a clinician in pre-operative planning. The fully unsupervised Bayesian Belief Network model is updated using the clinical parameters from the individual patient and the patient-specific probability of the healing rate of an acute traumatic wound.

  • Patent number: 10669214
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a cellular geopolymer product, which method comprises the steps: (a) forming an activated geopolymer premix by addition to a geopolymer premix of an activator compound that initiates a condensation reaction in the geopolymer premix; (b) casting the activated geopolymer premix in a desired configuration; and (c) generating gas bubbles in the activated geopolymer premix as the condensation reaction proceeds and the activated geopolymer premix stiffens to produce a self-supporting cellular structure; and (d) curing the self-supporting cellular structure to produce the cellular geopolymer product, wherein in step (c) the characteristics of the activated geopolymer premix and the reaction kinetics of the condensation reaction are controlled to achieve formation of the self-supporting cellular structure.

  • Patent number: 10127088
Abstract: Socket scheduling modes may prevent non-uniform memory access effects from negatively affecting performance of synchronization mechanisms utilizing hardware transactional memory. Each mode may indicate whether a thread may execute a critical section on a particular socket. For example, under transitional lock elision, locks may include a mode indicating whether threads may acquire or elide the lock on a particular socket. Different modes may be used alternately to prevent threads from starving. A thread may only execute a critical section on a particular socket if allowed by the current mode. Otherwise, threads may block until allowed to execute the critical section, such as after the current mode changes. A profiling session may, for a running workload, iterate over all possible modes, measuring statistics pertaining to the execution of critical sections (e.g., the number of lock acquisitions and/or elisions), to determine the best performing modes for the particular workload.

  • Publication number: 20150351552
Abstract: A chair includes a first side member, a second side member, a back cross member, a first flex member, and a second flex member. The first side member supports a first side of the chair and the second side member supports a second side of the chair. The back cross member is situated between the first side member and the second side member and rotates relative to the first side member and the second side member. The first flex member is coupled to the first side member and the back cross member and twists as the back cross member rotates relative to the first side member and the second side member. The second flex member is coupled to the second side member and the back cross member and twists as the back cross member rotates relative to the first side member and the second side member.

  • Patent number: 8545226
Abstract: A firearm shooting simulator includes an image capturing device fitted to a firearm and configured to capture at least one image of a target, once activated. The system further includes a processor which is configured to determine any variance between a center point of the image captured and a point on the target sighted by the firearm when the image is captured. This is achieved by sighting the firearm at a particular point on the target and programming the processor with the location of this sighted point. Once the processor is aware of which point is sighted by the firearm, the image is captured and the processor determines a center point of the image captured.
