  • Patent number: 5938172
Abstract: A solenoid valve drive system includes a step-up circuit that produces a first high voltage by using a switching device to on/off control supply of current from a battery to a step-up coil and stores the first high voltage in a first capacitor as a high voltage for initial high-voltage driving of a solenoid valve, a second capacitor, and a discriminating circuit for discriminating the level of the charge voltage of the second capacitor. The second capacitor is charged by high voltage from the step-up circuit only when the charge voltage of the second capacitor has not reached a prescribed level. The system can efficiently produce two types of high voltages without enlarging circuit size.

  • Patent number: 5884896
Abstract: A solenoid driving apparatus includes at least two solenoids of which driving periods do not overlap, a driving unit for driving each solenoid, and a signal generating unit for giving the driving unit a control signal information of each solenoid. The driving unit includes circuit sections jointly used with regard to the driving of each solenoid, and drives each solenoid based on the control signal information corresponding to each solenoid. The signal generating unit generates the control signal information of each solenoid which is given to the driving unit based on the drive pulse signal corresponding to each solenoid. Also, while a control signal information is given to the driving unit based on the drive pulse signal corresponding to one solenoid, the signal generating unit does not accept the input of any drive pulse signal even when a drive pulse corresponding to the other solenoid is generated by a noise.

  • Patent number: 5796223
Abstract: An apparatus for driving an electromagnetic load by applying a high voltage at the initial driving stage and thereafter applying a constant hold current is provided with a switch for supplying high-voltage energy to the electromagnetic load from a capacitor for storing high-voltage energy and a control circuit responsive to an electric signal for starting electromagnetic load driving and the output voltage of the capacitor. The control circuit turns the switch on at application of the electric signal and keeps it on until the output voltage reaches a prescribed level. The apparatus of this configuration enables optimum timing of changeover from high-voltage application mode operation to hold mold operation with simple circuitry.

  • Patent number: 5663618
Abstract: A driving apparatus for a commutatorless DC motor decides a next commutation period based on a difference of a reference zero-cross time and an actual zero-cross time such that a rising or falling edge of induced voltage signals is generated at the reference zero-cross time. Rising and falling edges of the induced voltage signals represent zero-cross points of induced voltages that are generated at each phase of drive windings. The actual zero-cross time is an actual time width from a start of a current commutation period till the generation of a rising or falling edge of the induced voltage signals. The reference zero-cross time is a desirable time width from the start of the current commutation period until a rising or falling edge of the induced voltage signals should be generated.

  • Patent number: 5430655
Abstract: A vehicle navigation system in which an optimum route from a starting point to a destination is computed in accordance with map information. A route guide is displayed in accordance with the current position of the vehicle and the optimum route. The route guiding information includes an image indicating the direction of vehicle progress from an intersection where the vehicle should turn, the name of the road the vehicle is to enter, and the name of a road intersecting the road on which the vehicle is currently running between the current position of the vehicle and the intersection where the vehicle should turn.

  • Patent number: 5153513
Abstract: In an apparatus for processing an output signal of a rotation sensor having a magnetic-electric transducer and the associated magnetic rotary member, a first level discriminator responsive to the output signal produces a first signal whose level changes at a detection time the transducer relatively comes opposite a predetermined position of the rotary member, and a second level discriminator responsive to the output signal produces a second signal whose level changes at a time different from the detection time. In order to obtain a pulse carrying information on the detection time, the first and second signals are input to a logic circuit, by which the pulse is produced in response to the change in the level of the first signal only in the case where the level of the second signal is in a prescribed state when the level of the first signal changes at the detection time, whereby the desired detection time can be precisely determined.

  • Patent number: 4994739
Abstract: A sensor includes a housing which is narrow at least at its front portion. An insertion portion of a holder is inserted in the front portion of the housing. A plurality of elongate conductors are printed on an outer surface of the insertion portion of the holder, the conductors extending generally in the direction of the axis of the housing. A sensing element is mounted within the front portion of the housing and is disposed forwardly of the holder. The sensing element has terminals extending therefrom toward the holder in generally parallel relation to the printed conductors. The terminals are soldered respectively to the printed conductors, thereby retaining the sensing element on the holder.
