  • Patent number: 5856714
Abstract: A hybrid type stepping motor includes coils located on the outer or inner periphery of stator yokes provided on a fixed shaft. This structure allows the coils to be disposed more easily and thus at a lower cost. Furthermore, it is possible to achieve a great increase in the density of winding. Auxiliary magnetic plates and auxiliary magnets are disposed at both ends of a stator yoke assembly so that a magnetic circuit is formed at both ends. According to the invention, a motor having any desired number of phases may be achieved. A magnet is disposed in each space between adjacent teeth of either a rotor or a stator or otherwise of both rotor and stator. The magnetomotive force of the magnet suppresses leakage magnetic flux and concentrates the magnetic flux within the region between the rotor and stator. As a result, in operation, an abrupt change in the magnetic flux can be obtained, which leads to an increase in the torque.

  • Patent number: 5834865
Abstract: A hybrid stepping motor according to the present invention has coils wound on stator yokes arranged on a fixed shaft or coils arranged on the inner peripheral surface of stator yokes. For this reason, the coils can be easily formed, a coil mounting density higher than that by a conventional technique can be obtained, and cost reduction can be obtained. An auxiliary magnetic plate and an auxiliary magnet are arranged on both the sides of a stator yoke member to form magnetic circuits at both the ends of the stator yoke member. Therefore, motors having various numbers of phases can be obtained, and a core are partially or entirely constituted by a non-layered structure, thereby improving torque/current characteristics.

  • Patent number: 5723921
Abstract: A hybrid-type stepping motor having coils on stator yokes mounted on a fixed shaft or coils wound on the inner circumferences of stator yokes. This hybrid-type stepping motor is easy to coil wind, offers a substantially high density of coils, and achieves a reduction in cost. The use of sub flat magnets and sub magnetic plates on both sides of a stator yoke body allows magnetic circuits to form on both sides of the stator yoke body. This arrangement results in an increase in torque. Additionally, multiple-phase motor is easily constructed.

  • Patent number: 5170111
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a method for power generation which may be used in conjunction with a generator in which a permanent magnet rotor and a Randell rotor provided in a casing are rotated simultaneously and generate power in an armature coil. The method includes a first step of controlling a magnetic flux .phi.2 of a control field coil for the Randell rotor with a field controller during low speed rotation in an additive direction to add the magnetic flux .phi.2 to a magnetic flux .phi.1 produced by the permanent magnet rotor, and a second step of controlling the magnetic flux during high speed rotation in a subtractive direction to subtract the magnetic flux .phi.2 from the magnetic flux .phi.1, so that a stable output level is produced.

  • Patent number: 5144178
Abstract: A generator includes a permanent magnet rotor formed in a hollow rotating member rotatably mounted in a casing. A Randell rotor mounted adjacent to the permanent magnet rotor is rotated with the permanent magnet rotor. An armature coil is mounted in association with the permanent magnet rotor and the Randell (claw-tooth) rotor. A first bearing at one end of the casing supports one end of the hollow rotating member. A protruding retainer mounted on the other end of the casing carries a Randell field coil, and a second bearing is mounted on the retainer for supporting a hollow section of the hollow rotating member. The hollow rotating member is supported by the first bearing and a second bearing provided in the hollow section. The generator may be suitably applied to aerospace equipment, unmanned flying objects or to unmanned marine cruising objects.

  • Patent number: 5130590
Abstract: A generator includes a permanent magnet rotor (1) rotatably mounted within a casing, a Randell (claw-tooth) rotor (1A) mounted for rotation in unison with the permanent magnet rotor, an armature coil (5) associated with the permanent magnet rotor and the Randell rotor, and a field coil (16) associated with the Randell rotor. The output power generated by the permanent magnet rotor and the Randell rotor is obtained from the common armature coil. The generator may be suitably applied to aerospace equipment, unmanned flying objects or to unmanned marine cruising objects.

  • Patent number: 4252332
Abstract: A pair of blocks or shell members of an appliance or the like are mated with each other, and an O-ring is fitted in an O-ring groove provided in the mating end surface of one of the shell members along the entire circumference thereof. In addition, a narrow annular clearance space is provided in a mating plane of the mating end surfaces of the shell members on the side close to the outer peripheral surface of the shell members, when assembled, i.e., radially outwards of the O-ring groove, in a manner to communicate with the exterior of the shell members, so that oil trapped in voids defined between an O-ring, and the walls of the O-ring groove and a mating surface of the counterpart shell, after the assembly of the shell members, may be removed with a cleaning liquid with ease. The annular clearance space may be provided either in the mating end surface of one shell member, in which the O-ring groove is formed, or in the mating end surface of the counterpart shell member having no O-ring groove therein.

  • Patent number: 4127363
Abstract: A swash-plate type compressor wherein a valve plate confronting an oil reservoir is provided with a vertical oil passage therein which is communicated with the oil reservoir via a relatively large through-bore formed at the lower end thereof, and is also provided with a gas inducing bore of a small diameter at a slightly higher position than the oil level in the oil reservoir for communicating therewith. By means of advantageously utilizing the pressure difference between the inside of the oil reservoir and that of the suction chamber as well as the centrifugal force caused by the rotation of the driving shaft and the swash-plate, the oil in the reservoir can be carried up together with the blow-up gas to each of the places requiring appropriate lubrication through two of the passages for the mixture of gas and oil, tandem arranged, large diametered and then small diametered, bored through the driving shaft, and a plurality of oil distribution bores formed in the boss of the swash-plate.
