  • Patent number: 8172157
Abstract: A thermal demand priority type cogeneration system, is made operative for obtaining power output without thermal demand. When the temperature in a hot water tank 17 is low, a heat request is output from a heat request generator 42 and thereby an engine 11 is driven. When the temperature T higher than a predetermined temperature T1, a first water supply instructing unit 44 opens a valve 39 and supplies water to the tank 17 to decrease the water temperature T. When the water temperature goes down, thermal demand is generated, the engine 11 is driven according to the heat request. So as to generate thermal demand, a discharge valve 41 may be opened when the water temperature T is at the predetermined temperature or higher. A second water supply instructing unit 46 opens the valve 39 when reserved water level in the tank 17 goes down. When the valve 39 is opened, water is supplied and the water temperature goes down and thermal demand is generated.

  • Patent number: 8039991
Abstract: In a cogeneration system having a first power plant connected to an AC power feed line between a power network and an electrical load and a first internal combustion engine for driving the first power plant such that exhaust heat of the first engine is supplied to a thermal load, power supply from the first power plant to the power network is interrupted by turning off a switch installed in the feed line, when outage of the power network is detected and a second power plant is operated, such that outputs of the first and second power plants are supplied to the electrical load. With this, it becomes possible to respond to a commercial power network outage for preventing reverse flow of the power output by the cogeneration system into the power network and supplying as much electric power as possible to the electrical load.

  • Patent number: 7847434
Abstract: A cogeneration system comprising a generator connected to an AC power feed line between a power network and an electrical load and an internal combustion engine for driving the generator and for supplying its exhaust heat to a thermal load. The power supply from the generator to the power network is interrupted by turning off a switch installed in the feed line when an outage of the power network is detected. A battery for storing DC power is connected to an inverter circuit to invert the DC power to AC power, such that the inverted AC power of the battery and the output of the generator are supplied to the electrical load, thereby enabling the system to respond to a power network outage and preventing reverse flow of the power output by the cogeneration system into the power network while supplying as much electric power as possible to the electrical load.

  • Patent number: 7762787
Abstract: In an engine drive washing machine, a discharge switch 10 is provided in a jet gun 5. When the switch 10 is turned off, an engine 1 is stopped. When the switch 10 is turned on, the engine 1 is started up to drive a pump 2. When an outlet pressure of the pump 2 is not lower than a predetermined value, a water-discharge valve in the gun 5 is opened to cause the water to be discharged. When the switch 10 is not turned off for a long time, the engine 1 is stopped. When an operator takes up the gun 5 to start the operation, the engine 1 is started up. The engine-drive type of washing machine is provided with a battery 13 for a starter motor, and the battery 13 is charged by a generator function of a starter-motor generator 3 during the operation of the engine 1.

  • Patent number: 7673402
Abstract: A self-propelled work machine, in which the load of the work unit increases according to an increase in the travel speed. The self-propelled work machine includes electric motors for driving the travel units, an engine for driving the work unit, a work drive instruction unit for instructing the work unit to turn on, and a control unit for controlling the electric motors. The control unit reduces the actual speed of the electric motors by using PID control so that the actual rotational speed of the engine returns to a reference rotational speed when the actual rotational speed of the engine falls below the reference rotational speed in the state in which the work unit is turned on by the work drive instruction unit. The reference rotational speed is a reference value used when the work unit is driven by the engine.
