Abstract: A heat engine includes a container in which a liquid piston made of a liquid operation fluid is sealed to flow therein, an exterior evaporator located outside of the container to generate vapor of the operation fluid, a suction portion arranged at one end side of the container to draw the vapor generated in the exterior evaporator into the container, an expansion portion in which the vapor drawn into the container is expanded to cause a displacement of the liquid piston, an output portion arranged at the other end side of the container to convert the displacement of the liquid piston to a mechanical energy, a liquid piston discharge portion for discharging a part of the liquid operation fluid as the liquid piston from the container, and a vapor discharge portion configured to discharge the vapor without being condensed in the container to outside of the container.

Abstract: A Multi-Function Peripheral (MFP) is provided with a locked mailbox bin. The MFP receives a print job, calculates a print quantity for a case in which the received print job is executed. If the calculated print quantity for the print job is more than a predetermined quantity, the MFP executes printing based on the print job with the locked mailbox bin designated as an output destination of a printed material. If the calculated print quantity for the print job is equal to or less than the predetermined quantity, the MFP stores the print job in a storage portion.

Abstract: A control apparatus obtains information identifying sheets stored in an MFP to be caused to perform printing for printing a printed object to be subjected to jacketed book binding, wherein this information is stored in the MFP. The control apparatus stores thicknesses of respective paper sheets as information about paper sheets. From this information and from the information obtained from the MFP, the control apparatus creates a table indicative of the correspondence between the respective paper sheets stored in the MFP and their thicknesses. Further, on receiving a selection of paper sheets to be used for printing for the printed object and a number of these paper sheets, the control apparatus determines a thickness of each paper sheet by making a reference to the table and calculates the spine jacket width by multiplying the thickness by the number of paper sheets.

Abstract: An image forming system includes an information terminal and an image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus stores a hash value of a file on which image forming operation is to be performed or has been performed. Upon a request to print a predetermined file at the information terminal, the information terminal generates a hash value of the predetermined file. The information terminal transmits print data and the hash value to the image forming apparatus only in the case where the information terminal determines that hash values stored by the image forming apparatus do not include the generated hash value.

Abstract: In order to reduce power consumption and shorten the waiting time until printing, the PC, controlling the MFP that is maintained in a sleep mode instead of being switched to a standby mode when a print job having a printing method set to confidential printing is received while it is in the sleep mode, includes a setting accepting portion to accept setting for printing, a job generating portion to generate a print job based on the accepted setting, a job transmitting portion to transmit the generated print job to the MFP, and a command transmitting portion to transmit a wake-up command to switch the MFP to the standby mode when the setting of the confidential printing as the printing method is accepted and when there is a wake-up instruction.

A pin having a large diameter remote end, a smaller diameter adjacent end, and a tapering connecting part is positioned in the horizontal tube aligned with the opening part or in the end of the vertical tube. As the end part of the vertical tube is inserted into the opening part, the end part of said vertical tube is caused to be expanded outwardly by press-fitting said vertical tube to said pin from outside, whereby it is held closely adherent to said opening part.

Abstract: A hermetical stopper used for liquid receptacles made of aluminum including minicasks of beer. Unlike the case in conventional receptacles in which the discharge ports usually have been hermetically sealed with aluminum as the same material for the main body, the hermetical stopper according to this invention is made independently of the main body so as to be able to put into and pull from out the discharge port at will, so that it is possible to be used repeatedly keeping the hermetically sealed state even after the primary use because of the discharge port being not necessary to be cut off purposely from the main body at the time of broaching the receptacle. In this way, this hermetical stopper according to the invention is very commendable also from the point of view of the effective use of resources.
