Abstract: A plasma display device including a plasma display panel (PDP) having electrodes between two substrates, a chassis base attached to and configured to support the PDP, printed circuit boards (PCBs) configured to drive the electrodes, and a plurality of flexible printed circuits (FPCs) connected to the plurality of PCBs and the electrodes, wherein at least one PCB configured to drive the electrodes is attached to the PDP.

Abstract: A stereoscopic image display device and method for driving the same includes a plasma display device and spectacles. A 3D effect is produced by turning on the left-eye lens of the spectacles in synchronization with a left-eye image and turning on the right-eye lens of the spectacles in synchronization with a right-eye image. The left-eye image is displayed on a group of discharge cells on the plasma display device during one frame, and the right-eye image is displayed on another group of discharge cells during the next frame. The cells displaying the left-eye image have an idle period while the right-eye image is displayed, and the cells displaying the right-eye image have an idle period while the left-eye image is displayed. Thus, the cells are not continuously discharged so an afterglow phenomenon of the discharge cells is reduced.

Abstract: An apparatus capable of performing an automatic tape ejection operation in an automobile-installed video cassette recorder comprises an input power detector for detecting an electrical disconnection between an automobile battery and the video cassette recorder when the automobile is turned off, a system controller, upon detecting the disconnection of the electrical power, for generating a switching control signal for a predetermined time period and a switch circuit, in response to the switching control signal, for electrically connecting the battery to a deck mechanism for the predetermined time period in which the tape ejection operation is executed.

Abstract: A karaoke apparatus evaluates a singer's performance by employing: a microphone for converting the singer's voice into a electrical voice signal; a first analogue to digital (A/D) converter for converting the electrical voice signal into a digitized voice signal; a audiovisual equipment for producing the accompanying music; a second A/D converter for digitizing the accompanying music to produce a digitized accompaniment signal; and a performance evaluator for measuring the difference between the accompanying music and the corresponding karaoke singer's voice to produce a score for the karaoke singer's singing performance.

Abstract: A three dimensional viewing system for use with a VCR for the three-dimensional viewing of an image having right-eye and left-eye subimages in alternating sequence reproduced by the VCR wherein the VCR generates a switching pulse which is in synchronization with the alternating sequence. The three dimensional system comprises a pair of three-dimensional viewing glasses having a pair of lenses made of a liquid crystal material through which the right-eye subimage and the left-eye subimage are viewed by regulating the on/off states of the lenses; a pulse generator for generating a driving pulse adapted to activate the liquid crystal material; and a mixing circuit for multiplexing the switching pulse and the driving pulse to produce an on/off driving signal divided into a first and a second driving signals that are 180 degrees out of phase with each other wherein each of the first and the second driving signals is used to regulate the on/off states of the lenses.
