Abstract: A remote controller for an adjustable support apparatus for supporting a patient includes an input device configured to accept control commands for adjusting a support apparatus for supporting a patient, at least one sensor configured to detect a pick-up of the remote controller by a user, and a transmitter device configured to transmit the control commands to the support apparatus for supporting a patient. The detection of the pick-up of the remote controller by the user activates the remote controller.

Abstract: Remote control of an operating table which can be motor-adjusted by means of a drive device is provided for. Command signals for controlling the drive device are wirelessly transmitted to the operating table from an operator control unit. A unique association between the operator control unit and an operating table is ensured before command signals are sent by emitting an infrared control signal to the operating table by the operator control unit and then confirming the reception of the control signal from the operator control unit by radio signal from the operating table.

Abstract: An operating table includes a bearing column, a table top mounted on the bearing column, and a control device. The table top is displaceable from a middle position transversely to a longitudinal axis of the table and tiltable about a tilting axis that is substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the table. The control device automatically activates a transverse displacement of the table top in a direction towards the middle position during a tilting movement.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the remote control of an operating table which can be motor-adjusted by means of a drive device, command signals for controlling the drive device being wirelessly transmitted to the operating table from an operator control unit. To develop the method in such a way that a unique association between the operator control unit and an operating table is ensured in a simple way, it is proposed according to the invention that an infrared control signal is first emitted to the operating table by the operator control unit and the reception of the control signal from the operator control unit is confirmed by radio signal. Furthermore, an apparatus for carrying out the method is proposed.
