  • Patent number: 7160104
Abstract: A lighter has been integrated into portable electronic equipments such as cellular phones, PDAs, or portable game players. The lighter can be completely stowed within the portable electronic equipment so that no parts protrude out of the portable electronic equipment's housing. Thereby not only the size can be reduced but also damage and entanglement with other things the portable electronic equipment is kept together as well as injuries can be avoided. The lighter is operated by a switch which is implemented as button either on the side of the portable electronic equipment or as a GUI menu or button on the display unit. When pressing the switch button the cover on the outlet of the lighter is being removed while at the same time a cylinder is being extended and moving out of the outlet, and a flame ignited in the burner unit appears from inside of the cylinder. The lighter includes a fuel tank which can be either fixed or removable as for instance fuel gas cartridges.

  • Patent number: 6888810
Abstract: In a method of controlling a searcher used in a wireless communication device supplied with a sequence of baseband reception data signals divisible into a sequence of frames, a current frame and preceding frames are selected which satisfy a first relationship. A current and preceding frame rates are statistically processed to obtain frequencies of combinations of the current and the preceding frame rates and to store the frequencies. The first relationship is determined by a difference between a processing time of correlators and the like and a delay time of a delay unit. A next frame search rate judgement portion statistically processes frequencies of combinations of the current and the preceding frame rates so as to calculate a next frame rate candidate in accordance with the first relationship. The next frame rate is predicted by using the next frame rate candidate with reference to a second relationship similar to the first relationship.

  • Patent number: 6463046
Abstract: In a method of controlling a searcher used in a receiver section supplied with a sequence of baseband reception data signals divisible into a sequence of frames, a current frame rate in a current frame is used to calculate a next frame rate in a next frame following the current frame and to determine candidate slots in the next frame with reference to the next frame rate. The searcher carries out searching operation within the candidate slots in the next frame. The next frame rate is calculated so that it is not higher then the current frame rate, so as to reliably carry out the search operation. The candidate slots in the next frame may be determined by a data burst randomizer.

  • Patent number: 6405052
Abstract: A method for keeping the closed loop adjustment of the transmission power of the mobile station in a CDMA mobile communication system almost constant until the base station succeeds in decoding the first preamble frame without error, thus reducing interference by preventing transmission power overshoot.

  • Patent number: 5710983
Abstract: Frequency-dividing ratio data for selecting the oscillating frequency of a synthesizer are generated by a shift register, a certain number of switches connected to respective output terminals of the shift register, and an exclusive-OR gate for exclusive-ORing output signals respectively from the switches and feeding an output signal back to an input terminal of the shift register. A memory stores initial settings for the shift register and open and closed states of the switches.

  • Patent number: 5650926
Abstract: After an initializing step S302, a new minimum functional value F(*X.sub.2) is obtained from a present minimum functional value F(*X.sub.1) by a exploration in a step S303. F(*X.sub.1) and F(*X.sub.2) are compared in a step S304. If F(*X.sub.2).gtoreq.F(*X.sub.1), then a step size is updated in a step S999, and the step S303 and the following steps are repeated. If F(*X.sub.2)<F(*X.sub.1), then *X.sub.2 is updated as *X.sub.1, and *X.sub.1 is updated as *X.sub.0 in a step S305. F(*X.sub.1) is compared with a first functional threshold value .epsilon..sub.1 in a step S306. If F(*X.sub.1)<.epsilon..sub.1, then the process is ended in a step S318. If F(*X.sub.1).gtoreq..epsilon..sub.1, then new F(*X.sub.2) is determined according to a pattern move in a step S307. F(*X.sub.1) and F(*X.sub.2) are compared in a step S308. If F(*X.sub.2).gtoreq.F(*X.sub.1), then the step S303 and the following steps are repeated. If F(*X.sub.2)<F(*X.sub.1), then a new minimum functional value candidate F(*X.sub.
