  • Patent number: 5635840
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for magnetic resonance imaging of a sample to be inspected without the sample chamber to be taken out of the apparatus under omission of renewed operation of tuning and shimming on each test, by excluding transmission of any vibration of the static and the gradient magnetic field generating elements to the detection unit, which includes supporting, within a hollow core space (4) in static and gradient magnetic field generating elements (1) and (2), a detection unit (10) composed of a sample chamber (11) and an RF-emission-reception set (12) including an RF coil (13) by a support member (14), such that they are isolated from said static magnetic field generating element (1) and from said gradient magnetic field generating element (2); performing the sample exchange by guiding the sample (15) into said sample chamber (11) via a sample transfer line (18) by making use of a vacuum and compressed air; building up a gradient magnetic field while the sample chamber (11) is charged with the

  • Patent number: 5587298
Abstract: A bioreactor which and be used with substrates which are difficult to attain sufficient dispersion is made up of a reaction vessel 1 having a reaction chamber 2 surrounded by a water jacket 3 for maintaining a predetermined constant temperature. The reaction chamber 2 is provided in the vicinity of the inner wall surface 2a of the reaction vessel 2 with a plurality of upright screws 6 and 7 in an adjoining relationship to each other, each screw having a screw thread or a helical fin 6b, 7b of reverse turning sense with each other so that the reactor vessel contents are subjected to a convectional flow induced by the rotation of the screws in the reverse sense to each other by a gearing 14, 15. The substrate therein is subjected to a uniform agitation and to a milling and sieving actions in the portion 13 where the fins of the screws face each other, before the reaction product is removed by a screw conveyer 25.
