  • Publication number: 20100146728
Abstract: A wiper blade made of a compound having a methyl vinyl silicone polymer, a filler, and a friction-reducing additive is provided. The friction-reducing additive is present in an amount from between about 5 and 42 weight percent. The average particle size of the friction-reducing additive is preferably less than about 25 microns, thereby permitting extrusion of the compound into the shape of a wiper blade. Polytetrafluoroethylene is preferred as a friction-reducing additive, but other substances, such as boron nitride or graphite could be used.

  • Patent number: 7373687
Abstract: A wiper blade made of a compound having a methyl vinyl silicone polymer, a filler, and a friction-reducing additive is provided. The friction-reducing additive is present in an amount from between about 5 and 42 weight percent, preferably 11 percent.

  • Patent number: 7028367
Abstract: A wiper blade made of a compound having a methyl vinyl silicone polymer, a filler, and a friction-reducing additive is provided. The friction-reducing additive is present in an amount from between about 5–42 weight percent, preferably 11 percent. The average particle size of the friction-reducing additive is preferably less than 6 microns, thereby permitting extrusion of the compound into the shape of a wiper blade. Polytetrafluoroethylene is preferred as a friction-reducing additive, but other substances, such as boron nitride or graphite could be used.

  • Publication number: 20040045116
Abstract: A wiper assembly having a wiper frame, a wiper blade, and a single-rail spline is provided. The wiper blade includes a head portion and a wiping portion, the head portion having an entry slot disposed in a top surface of the head portion. A spline channel is also disposed in the head portion adjacent to the entry slot. A single-rail spline nests within the spline channel and adds rigidity to the wiper blade along the length of the wiper blade. The wiper blade and spline are slidingly received by claws on the wiper frame, and an end cap is releasably connected to both ends of the wiper blade to further secure the wiper blade and spline to the wiper frame.

  • Patent number: 5950124
Abstract: An apparatus and process for improving the performance of a cellular communication system using direct sequence spread spectrum techniques. The apparatus and process enable dynamic modification of communication system parameters including PN code length, chipping rate and modulation technique for transmission of a data packet. Modification is based on proximity of the transmitter and receiver, transmitter and receiver capabilities and other factors. The system evaluates tradeoffs between data transmission speed and communication range to improve system performance.
