  • Publication number: 20200298031
Abstract: A filter mask for filtering air inhaled and exhaled from the mouth and nostrils while providing a secure fit and comfort to the wearer is provided. The filter mask has upper and lower edges which are provided with at least one malleable stiffener for conforming to the shape of the wearer's nose and cheek area and/or the lower jaw and chin area. In some embodiments, the filter masks further comprises a malleable stiffening member configured to conform the filter material to at least a chin portion and a jaw portion of the face. In some embodiments, the malleable stiffener can have a bend portion, which allows the wearer of the mask to know which part, center and side of the mask is to be properly placed on the nose and cheek area. The masks provide excellent filtration and provide a secure and comfortable fit to the wearer.

  • Publication number: 20110009745
Abstract: Ultrasonically determining flow parameters of a fluid (12) flowing through a passage (14), using far-field analysis. Includes: (a) acquiring near-field amplitude and phase change values of ultrasound waves transmitted (30) into, propagating through, and scattered (32) by, the flowing fluid; (b) determining far-field scattering amplitude distribution, A(?, ?f), as two-dimensional function of scattering angle, ?, and Doppler frequency shift, ?f, from the acquired near-field amplitude and phase change values; and (c) determining flow parameters (peak velocity, velocity distribution, flow rate) of the flowing fluid, from the scattering amplitude distribution. Implementable using ‘clamp-on’ techniques including ultrasound wave transmitter and ultrasound wave detector array, clamped on, in an oppositely facing configuration, to the passage, for transmitting and detecting ultrasound waves propagating perpendicular to net flow direction of the flowing fluid.

  • Patent number: 5874991
Abstract: Apparatus for creating video test patterns for outputting to a video test pattern generator enables individual lines to be built from standard components with appropriate parameters. Completed lines are held in a form which is television standard-independent and can be edited numerically or graphically. A test pattern is built from a set of lines and a part or fully completed pattern can be displayed to an operator in a picture representation which simulates the appearance of the test pattern when displayed on a television receiver.
