  • Patent number: 10419585
Abstract: Methods and systems for dynamically surfacing user interface controls in a workflow. In particular, one or more embodiments determine which steps of a workflow to display with the workflow. One or more embodiments assign weights or scores to each step of the workflow based on whether the step is a required step or an optional step. One or more embodiments use the assigned weights to determine which steps to display with the workflow in a graphical user interface based on whether the assigned weights meet a predetermined threshold. Additionally, one or more embodiments track user interactions with commands in the client application and increase weights of steps associated with the commands to dynamically display steps when the increased weights of the steps meet the predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 10340892
Abstract: A multi-channel digital step attenuator (DSA) architecture. One embodiment includes an array comprising N channels of B selectable attenuator cells series-connected. The overall impedance of a multi-channel DSA is a function of the parallel impedances of the N channels, and transition levels are reduced by 1/N since the transient effect of switching any one attenuator cell in or out of circuit in one channel is mitigated by all other in-circuit attenuator cells in the parallel channels. The multi-channel DSA architecture enables a great design flexibility, and allows a designer to vary one or more of at least the following design parameters: the number of attenuator cells B per channel; the number N of channels per DSA; the bit weighting of each attenuator cell per channel; the maximum attenuation per channel; and the characteristic impedance Zon of each channel.

  • Publication number: 20190198957
Abstract: A low loss, wide band, phase shifter utilizing one or more transformers in presented. In one case, the phase shifter includes a reflective SPDT switch that is coupled to a transformer. In another case, the phase shifter includes a distributed SPDT switch that includes switchable conduction paths having series connected unit elements of a same phase shift. The transformer may be part of an existing circuit and may be reused to provide the functionality of the phase shifter by introducing the reflective or the distributed SPDT switch.

  • Publication number: 20190188889
Abstract: Applying an image effect within an image processing application. An image processing application receives a selection of an image effect to be applied to an image. The image includes image layers, each of which has a layer property and is created based on an application of a first effect. The application selects a template from a set of predefined templates. The selection is based on the image effect and the template. The template includes template layers. The application matches each of the image layers to a corresponding template layer having a template property corresponding to the layer property. The application determines from the matching that no conflicts exist between the image layers and the template. The application merges the image layers with the template layers and applies the image effect.

  • Publication number: 20190140622
Abstract: A phase shifter for altering the phase of a radio frequency signal is disclosed herein. A Lange coupler is used having reflective ports that are coupled to artificial transmission lines. The artificial transmission lines provide a reflection transmission path, the length of which can be determined by digital control lines. Transistors placed along the length of the central trace provide independent paths to ground that serve to shorten the electrical length of the ATL. Accordingly, by selectively turning the transistors on/off, the electrical length of the ATL can be selected and thus the amount of phase delay introduced by the phase shifter.

  • Patent number: 10278048
Abstract: Implementations herein relate to visualization of interaction with a building management system (BMS). Such interaction may be facilitated with a smart headset that displays a three-dimensional model of an image with real-time data from the BMS to enable monitoring and control of the BMS. In one implementation, a system for locating a target in a building includes a server, a first wireless emitter, and an application on a mobile device. The first wireless emitter is associated with the target and configured to emit a first emitter identifier within a first range. The application is configured to detect the first emitter identifier when the mobile device is within the first range. The application is also configured to transmit the first emitter identifier to the server in response to detecting the first emitter identifier. The application is also configured to receive a first content from the server.

  • Patent number: 10250339
Abstract: A calibration architecture that enables accurate calibration of radio frequency (RF) integrated circuits (ICs) chips used in transceiver RF systems in a relatively simple testing environment. Embodiments of the invention include one or more on-chip switchable internal calibration paths that enable direct coupling of a portion of the on-chip circuit to an RF test system while isolating other circuitry on the chip. Some embodiments allow interconnection of switchable internal calibration paths between separate IC chips. Still other embodiments utilize internal switches and antenna mutual coupling to provide over-the-air calibration, alone or in combination with direct signal coupling via internal calibration paths. Periodic self-calibration of an RF IC can be performed after initial factory calibration, so that adjustments in desired performance parameters can be made while such an IC is embedded within a final system, and/or to take into account component degradation due to age or other factors.

  • Patent number: 10235786
Abstract: A context aware clipping mask is described. Context aware clipping masks may provide an automated approach for creating clipping sets that generate aesthetically pleasing photo texts. In at least some implementations, an input image is analyzed to generate an image saliency map and an image gradient map. A plurality of image rects of varying sizes and aspect ratios are generated on a grid over the input image. A score is assigned to each image rect, incorporating a visual composition, a boundary simplicity based on the image gradient map, and a content preservation based on the image saliency map. An image rect with the highest score is selected and utilized to create a photo text from the input image.

  • Patent number: 10126918
Abstract: Customized guided workflow element arrangement techniques are described in which user interface elements configured to provide entry points for guided workflows are dynamically arranged based upon usage frequency of application features. In one or more implementations, personalized views of a workflow selection screen are generated and provided to users by arranging UI elements on an individual basis. Workflows related to features of an application that are used are identified based on per-user tracking. Ranks are set for the workflows based at least upon relative usage of corresponding features as determined through the tracking, which establishes an order for different workflows one to another. A user interface that implements the workflow selection screen may then be exposed having UI elements that are configured as entry points to different guided workflows and arranged in a customized arrangement in accordance with the rankings.

  • Patent number: 10062946
Abstract: Programmable multi-reflective phase shifters which provide reduced root-mean-square phase error, can be optimized for a desired frequency band, can compensate for process variations arising during manufacture, and can help offset system level performance shortfalls. Embodiments include a hybrid coupler (e.g., a Lange hybrid coupler) in combination with a multi-reflective reactance-based terminating circuit with a number of different configurations that permit various modes of operation, including a thermometric mode, a phase overlap mode with interstitial phase shift states, an extended range phase shift mode, and a “tweak bit” mode. A number of programmable or selectable RF phase shifters can be series or parallel connected to provide a desired gamut of phase shift.

  • Patent number: 10020798
Abstract: A wideband RF attenuator circuit that has a reduced impact on the phase of an applied signal when switched between an attenuation state and a non-attenuating reference or bypass state. A low phase shift attenuation at high RF frequencies can be achieved by utilizing a switched signal path attenuator topology with multiple distributed transmission line elements per signal path to provide broadband operation, distribute parasitic influences, and improve isolation to achieve higher attenuation at higher frequencies while still maintaining low phase shift operational characteristics. In an alternative embodiment, extension to even higher frequencies can be achieved by utilizing a quarter-wave transmission line element at the signal interfaces of each signal path, thereby improving insertion loss and power handling.
