Abstract: Compositions comprising metabolized conditioned growth medium and/or metabolized cell extract and methods of use are described. The metabolized conditioned growth medium and metabolized cell extract compositions may be formulated with an acceptable carrier into injectable or topical formulations, for example, as a cream, lotion or gel, and may be used in cosmeceutical or pharmaceutical applications. The metabolized conditioned growth medium and metabolized cell extract may also be further processed to concentrate or reduce one or more factors or components contained within the metabolized conditioned growth medium or metabolized cell extract. The growth medium may be conditioned by any eukaryotic cell. The metabolized conditioned growth medium and metabolized cell extract may be used to prevent or treat a condition, for example, a skin condition.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a topical composition that contains a fermentation extract from a simultaneous or sequential fermentation. When topically applied to skin, the composition of the invention is effective in stimulating the production of hyaluronic acid, CD44 and Caspase 14 protein in skin cells.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a topical composition that contains (a) a plant meristem conditioned nutrient medium derived from the plants of the genus Oryza; (b) a preservative present at an amount sufficient to provide sterilizing or biostatic efficacy with respect to component (a); and (c) a dermatologically acceptable vehicle. When topically applied to mammalian cells, the composition of the invention can influence the epigenetic methylation of the DNA such that the methylation state is modulated to have more characteristics and patterns of the epigenetic state of younger cells.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a composition that is suitable for influencing electromagnetic radiation on cutaneous extracellular matrix protein production. The composition contains (a) a proanthrocyanin, a polyphenol or a proanthrocyanin/polyphenol-containing plant extract, absorbed or adsorbed onto an inert carrier, where component (a) is responsive to UV, IR or visible light; (b) a photo-activatable amino acid or amino acids blend; and (c) a dermatologically-acceptable vehicle, wherein component (a) is present in an amount of from about 15 wt % to about 35 wt % based on the total amount of component (a) and component (b), said component (b) is present in an amount of from about 65 wt % to about 85 wt % based on the total amount of component (a) and component (b), and said component (c) is present in an amount of from about 90 wt % to about 99.95 wt % based on the total weight of the composition.

Abstract: There is provided a post-mix drink dispenser of a novel design which permits higher carbonation and faster flow of materials than the existing dispensers. The dispenser includes a pressure equalizing nozzle for dispensing carbonated water, and a suitable syrup distributor. The syrup and carbonated water are permitted to mix when a first stem valve is moved to a prescribed position. The first stem valve is moved in conjunction with a flexible diaphragm. The diaphragm is maintained in a first position by a pressure differential of carbonated water pressure on opposite sides thereof such that no mixing or dispensing occurs. The diaphragm flexes to a second position when the carbonated water achieves different pressure states on opposite side of the diaphragm. The different pressure states are controlled by a second stem valve. The second stem valve controls the states of a pressure bleed path as a function of the position of a mechanical lever means which is operated by the user of the dispenser.
