  • Patent number: 5379274
Abstract: An inclination adjusting means for a liquid-ornamental desk clock, and more particularly to an inclination adjusting means for a liquid-ornamental desk clock of which the dial is shown by means of reflection. The inclination adjusting means of the present invention includes a movable cover plate having a grooved rack held between two springy arms, and a receiving portion having a springy and toothed middle section to receive the rack therein. The engagement of the toothed middle section of the receiving portion with the grooved rack of the movable cover plate allows the cover plate to be freely adjusted and fixed to different angles relative to the desk clock and thereby inclines the same to show time indication at the best viewing angle.

  • Patent number: 5378513
Abstract: A decoration set includes a transparent container having upper and lower terminal portions interconnected to by a slanting middle part. Each of the terminal portions defines a reservoir adapted to carry a sandy medium stored within the container. A board is mounted within the container and includes opposing sides provided with rippled surfaces which cause a decorative pattern as the sandy medium flows thereover. The container can be oriented in a first upright position wherein the sandy medium flows over the rippled surface causing a pattern on one side of the board and an inverted, upright position wherein the sandy medium flows over the rippled surface causing a pattern on the other side of the board. The side surfaces also include vents through which the sandy medium flows.

  • Patent number: 5292564
Abstract: A fluid-contained display ornament comprising a transparent fluid container for holding a fluid, a pilot device, and a display device having one end secured to one end of the transparent fluid container and an opposite end secured to the pilot device. The pilot device floats in the fluid to spread out the display for exhibition when the transparent fluid container stands up. The display device is forced by the pilot device to conceal itself at said one end of the transparent fluid container when the transparent fluid container is turned upside-down.

  • Patent number: 5255460
Abstract: A diagrammatic indicator assembly includes a hollow, transparent housing which is substantially Z-shaped in side view with upper and lower terminal portions interconnected by an angled central portion. Each of the terminal portions define reservoirs adapted to carry a sandy medium stored within the housing. An inclined plate is mounted within the housing and includes opposing sides provided with a plurality of holes for retaining some of the sandy medium as it flows thereover. The housing can be orientated in a first upright position wherein the sandy medium flows over and is retained in the holes on one side of the plate and an inverted, upright position wherein the sandy medium flows over and is retained in the holes on the other side of the plate.

  • Patent number: 5228225
Abstract: A progressive liquid display device comprising a plurality of display strips movably held in a liquid between plural pairs of symmetrical grooves behind a transparent wall, the symmetrical grooves each having a stop plate fastened therein to confine the moving range of the corresponding display strip. The display strips will sink or float when the device is turned upside down and be stopped by the stop plates with one strip rising behind another to form a desired pattern.

  • Patent number: 5146701
Abstract: The invention is a liquid swing decoration having a partially liquid filled hollow bar which pivots at a central portion on a base stand. Magnets are attached at both ends of the bar and magnets are also located in the base stand. The base stand magnets are connected to supporting racks at one end while cam rods are connected to the other end of the supporting rods. Springs dampen the movement of the supporting rods. The effects of the magnets allows the liquid filled hollow bar to wag for long periods of time after it has been set in motion, so that the liquid inside the hollow bar can either shake vigorously or mildly to produce a gentle wave-like motion for decoration and visual pleasure.
