  • Patent number: 11809381
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods of accessing content items stored at a content management system by a mobile device, when the mobile device is not communicatively coupled to the content management system. The content management system can receive an indication to mark a content item (e.g., folder and the content items associated with the folder) as available to a mobile device when the mobile device is offline. The content management system can mark the content item, and any content items associated with the content item, for offline access by the mobile device and determine a synchronization schedule for the content item(s). The content management system can then initially send to the mobile device, the marked content item(s) in accordance with the synchronization schedule. While offline, the mobile device can make changes to the marked content items. The changes can be synchronized between the mobile device and content management system when the mobile device is online.

  • Publication number: 20230195997
Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for managing content item collections. For example, in embodiment, a client device may receive first user input selecting a content item collection. The client device may generate a graphical user interface for presenting the content item collection. The content item collection may include one or more tiles. Each tile may correspond to a content item embedded into the content item collection and stored by a content management system. The client device may present the content item collection including the one or more tiles. The client device may present, within each of the one or more tiles, an image representing the corresponding content item.

  • Patent number: 11630909
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to managing content item collections. A collection management system receives a request for collection item metadata associated with a collection item. Collection management system obtains a content item identifier corresponding to the collection item identifier. Collection management system requests content item metadata from a content management system. Collection management system receives from the content management system content item metadata corresponding to the content item identifier. Collection management system filters the content item metadata to remove a portion of the content item metadata comprising privileged information. Collection management system retrieves collection item metadata using the collection item identifier. Collection management system adds the filtered content item metadata to the collection item metadata.

  • Publication number: 20220334646
Abstract: Systems and methods of multi-modal control of a touch-based device include receiving multi-modal control inputs from one or more of voice commands, a game controller, a handheld remote, and physical gestures detected by a sensor; converting the multi-modal control inputs into corresponding translated inputs which correspond to physical inputs recognizable by the touch-based device; and providing the corresponding translated inputs to the touch-based device for control thereof, wherein the translated inputs are utilized by the touch-based device as corresponding physical inputs to control underlying applications executed on the touch-based device which expect the corresponding physical inputs.

  • Patent number: 11467891
Abstract: The present technology pertains to responding to a kernel level file event for a content item and presenting a file event window associated with the content item. A client device can detect the kernel level file event for the content item. This can be accomplished using a kernel extension on a client device that is networked with a content management system. The client device can then retrieve data associated with the content item, including an instruction for the content item. The client device can then perform the instruction. This instruction can be to retrieve collaboration data from the content management system and present the collaboration data in a file event window.

  • Patent number: 11455278
Abstract: The disclosed technology addresses the need in the art for providing workflow controls to shared content items stored on client devices, and enforcing content item check outs or content item locks for shared content items stored and accessed on client devices. The present technology further includes automatically locking a shared content item that is edited on a client device so that other team members cannot modify the content item. Accordingly, the present technology improves upon existing systems that provide workflow controls such as file check-in and checkout functionality by permitting users to access content items directly from the file system of their client device, and by providing automatic checkout and check-in functionality.
