  • Publication number: 20250066664
Abstract: A method for corrosion control is disclosed, wherein the method includes limiting all components involved in sulfuric acid formation to low levels. The components include, but may not be limited to oxygen, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, and H2S. The method may also include maintaining the H2S level above typical pipeline concentrations to inhibit the reactions to form sulfuric acid in the pipeline.

  • Patent number: 12180813
Abstract: A method comprising reducing the pressure of a carbon dioxide injection stream with a first pressure reducer having a depth and producing a reduced pressure carbon dioxide stream; reducing the pressure of the reduced pressure carbon dioxide stream with a second pressure reducer positioned at a lower depth than the first pressure reducer to produce a further reduced pressure carbon dioxide stream; and injecting the further reduced pressure carbon dioxide stream into a reservoir having a depth; wherein the pressure of the carbon dioxide stream at the depth of the first pressure reducer is greater than a bubble point pressure of the carbon dioxide injection stream at the depth of the first pressure reducer; wherein the pressure of the further reduced pressure carbon dioxide stream at the depth of the reservoir is less than a minimum fracture pressure of the reservoir at the depth of the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 8683825
Abstract: A system and method for recovering helium-3 from helium. A distillation column having a top section that is smaller in diameter than a main section is provided. The column also includes an intermediate condenser that condenses vapor from the main section and above a helium feed stream. Reflux to the column can be provided by liquid helium-3 from a conduit or from an overhead condenser. In a preferred cycle, the distillation column is operated at a subatmospheric pressure, and in a temperature range between 2.3 K and 4.3 K.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 14, 2013
Date of Patent: April 1, 2014
Assignee: Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.
Inventors: Jianguo Xu, David Ross Graham, Vipul S. Parekh
