Publication number: 20240080172Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine a first antenna array and a second antenna array are active for the UE operating in a full duplex operation mode, where uplink signaling at the UE corresponds to the first antenna array and downlink signaling at the UE corresponds to the second antenna array. The first antenna array and the second antenna array may be associated with one or more operating parameters of the UE. The UE may select one antenna array of the first antenna array or the second antenna array to use for both the uplink signaling and the downlink signaling based on a value of the one or more operating parameters of the UE satisfying a first threshold value. The UE may communicate, in the full duplex operation mode, the uplink signaling and the downlink signaling using the selected antenna array.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2022Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Rishav Agarwal, Arnab Pal, Vishnu Namboodiri Karakkad Kesavan Namboodiri

Publication number: 20240048213Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may obtain per-beam, per-component carrier measurements for unique combinations of beams and component carriers supported by the UE. The UE may select a first beam that has a highest per-beam, per-component carrier measurement across all component carriers. In addition, the UE may determine a set of candidate beams based on the measurements. For example, beams included in the set of candidate beams may have per-beam, per-component carrier measurements within some defined value of the measurements corresponding to the first beam. The UE may select an active beam from the set of candidate beams based on an average per-beam, per-component carrier measurement or a difference between maximum and minimum per-beam, per-component carrier measurements of each candidate beam across all component carriers. The UE may communicate with the network entity using the active beam.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 3, 2022Publication date: February 8, 2024Inventors: Rishav Agarwal, Vishnu Namboodiri Karakkad Kesavan Namboodiri, Nishika Singla

Publication number: 20230413125Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a user equipment (UE) may communicate with a first network device in a first communications system (e.g., a non-standalone (NSA) system) prior to initiating a handover to a second communications system (e.g., a standalone (SA) system). In some examples, the UE may receive a first tracking reference signal (TRS) from the first network device using a first transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state. The first network device may include an indication of the first TCI state in a control message. The UE may initiate a handover from the first network device to the second network device. Subsequent to the handover, the UE may receive a second TRS from the second network device. The UE may receive the second TRS using the first TCI state based on determining that one or more antenna port configuration conditions are satisfied.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2020Publication date: December 21, 2023Inventors: Chinmay Shankar VAZE, Chun-Hao HSU, Priyanka YENIGALLA, Vishnu Namboodiri KARAKKAD KESAVAN NAMBOODIRI, Zhanyi LIU, Jing LI, Rashmi Ranjan MOHANTY

Publication number: 20230269632Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Implementations described herein support prioritization of cells that are configured at the UE over neighboring cells (e.g., that are unconfigured) for cell reselection while the UE is in an inactive state. The UE may receive system information that indicates a cell reselection priority for evaluating a plurality of cells. The system information may indicate that the neighboring cell is assigned a higher priority than a cell of a master cell group or a cell of the secondary cell group that are configured at the UE. The UE may perform a cell reselection procedure that prioritizes reselection of the master cell group cell, the secondary group cell, or both over the neighboring cell and establish a connection with one of the plurality of cells based on a result of the cell reselection procedure.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2021Publication date: August 24, 2023Inventors: Ansah Ahmed Sheik, Chinmaya Padhy, Vishnu Namboodiri Karakkad Kesavan Namboodiri
