  • Patent number: 4273011
Abstract: In a device for turning a nut on one stud or tensioning bolt of many, arranged on a pitch circle, the nut is connected to one half of a positive, torque-transmitting clutch which can be pulled apart in the axial direction. The other half of the clutch is supported on a drive bushing carried on the stud or tensioning bolt, being moveable thereon in the lengthwise direction. The upper end of the drive bushing is connected to a gear which meshes with the pinion of an electric motor mounted on the outside of the support body of the device. When the nut is screwed off of a stud, it is contained in the drive bushing in such a way that no extra elevation is not required.

  • Patent number: 4207784
Abstract: An improved device for turning a nut means on a screw bolt arranged on a bolthole circle wherein the device includes: a support ring having recesses for receiving the bolt and the nut means; a turning unit fastened to the ring for imparting rotary motion to the nut means; and a transport safety means for engaging and retaining the nut means when it reaches its unscrewed end position. In accordance with the invention, the improvement comprises employing a nut means having a threaded portion for engaging the transport safety means and including in the latter means a member attached to the support ring and in surrounding relationship to the bolt, the latter member having a counterthread and being positioned so that the threaded portion of the nut means is engaged by the counterthread before the nut means reaches its end position.

  • Patent number: 4185506
Abstract: An arrangement for measuring the pre-tension of a threaded bolt having a central drill hole. A part is fastened to the lowest point of the drill hole and the difference in length of the part relative to the threaded bolt is determined via a length measuring device. An electric holding magnet, introduced into the hole, is fastened to a cable running from a cable drum and carrying an electromagnet, which, when excited, adheres to the closed hole at its lowest point; the cable is tightened and its length is held constant by a ratchet. The cable drum is movably supported on a tube connected to the threaded bolt in such a manner that, when the cable is loose, its carrier is pushed by a spring surrounding the tube against an upper flange on the tube; a length measuring device borne on the carrier contacts a surface of the tube. The measurement is performed with the cable tightened and its length held constant by the ratchet.

  • Patent number: 4185505
Abstract: Apparatus for measuring the pre-tension of a threaded bolt which is elongated by means of a tensioning unit and a screwed-in tensioning bolt; a measuring rod is inserted into a central hole in the threaded bolt and the difference in length is determined by means of a length measuring device. The measuring rod is guided in the housing of the tensioning unit, secured against rotation, and is threaded to engage a threaded bushing. The threaded bushing is longitudinally movable and secured against rotation in a bushing having external teeth. Rotation of the tensioning bolt is transmitted via gears to the threads on the measuring rod and converted into an up or down movement. The measurement may be made when the measuring rod comes to rest at the lowest point of the central hole.

  • Patent number: 4185504
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the pre-tension of a threaded bolt by means of a two part measuring rod introduced into a central hole of the threaded bolt and of a length measuring device. The measuring rod includes an upper rod threaded to a lower tube which is secured against rotation. Rotation of the threaded rod by a motor moves the end of the measuring rod in or out of the central hole.

  • Patent number: 4104934
Abstract: An improved fixture for simultaneously threading-on and turning the nut means of several screw bolts. The fixture comprises a support ring having recesses for receiving each screw bolt and its associated nut means and a separate rotating means for rotating each nut means. In accordance with the invention, each rotating means is associated with a particular recess and includes a stator part disposed in the surfaces of the recess which face the nut means received by that recess. Each stator part includes an a-c winding and thus, forms the stator portion of an asynchronous-type electric motor whose rotor portion is formed by the nut means facing that stator part.
