  • Publication number: 20130199311
Abstract: A position indicator includes a capacitor having a capacitance that changes in correspondence to a force applied to one end part of a housing. The capacitor is configured by a pressure detecting chip that includes a first electrode and a second electrode disposed opposite to the first electrode with a predetermined distance defined therebetween to have capacitance Cv formed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The capacitance Cv changes when the force applied to the one end part of the housing is transmitted to the first electrode to thereby change a relationship (e.g., the distance) between the two electrodes. A pressure transmitting member having predetermined elasticity is disposed on the first electrode such that the force applied to the one end part of the housing is transmitted to the first electrode of the semiconductor element via the pressure transmitting member.

  • Publication number: 20130193532
Abstract: A capacitive pressure sensing semiconductor device is provided, which has pressure resistance against pressure applied by a pressing member and can detect the pressure surely and efficiently. The pressure sensing semiconductor device includes a pressure detecting part, which detects pressure as a change in capacitance, and a package that receives the pressure detecting part within. The pressure detecting part includes a first electrode and a second electrode disposed to oppose the first electrode, with a determined distance therebetween. Capacitance is formed between the first electrode and the second electrode, and changes according to a change in said distance caused by pressure transmitted to the first electrode by a pressing member. The package also includes a pressure transmitting member that transmits, to the first electrode of the pressure detecting part, the pressure applied by the pressing member.

  • Publication number: 20130161179
Abstract: An operation switch device includes a circuit board and a push switch disposed on the circuit board and including a movable part exposed to an outside for reacting to an external pressing operation. Also provided on the circuit board is a touch detecting electrode formed in proximity to the push switch. The operation switch device further includes an operation detecting circuit connected with the push switch and the touch detecting electrode, and an operation member disposed to oppose the circuit board with the push switch interposed between the operation member and the circuit board. The operation member is displaceable such that the pressing operation on the operation member causes depression of the movable part of the push switch. The operation detecting circuit detects a touch operation on the operation member using the touch detecting electrode, and detects the pressing operation on the operation member using the push switch.

  • Publication number: 20130141085
Abstract: In a position detector having two sensors, a first sensor detects a position indicated by a first indicator by electromagnetic induction and a second sensor detects a position indicated by a second indicator by a detection method other than electromagnetic induction. The position detector reduces adverse effects of the transmission signal supplied to the second sensor on the electromagnetic induction position detection circuit. The position indication state of the first and second indicators is determined based on a signal output from the first sensor according to the position indication by the first indicator on the first sensor and a signal output from the second sensor according to the position indication by the second indicator on the second sensor. According to the determination results of the position indication state, the level of the transmission signal provided to the second sensor to detect the position indication by the second indicator is controlled.
