  • Publication number: 20090104211
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for commissioning articles from a first number of pick-up sections (16) into a corresponding number of order placement sections (18), by means of a second number of commissioners (20). Thus, only one commissioner (20) carries out commissioning in a commissioning zone (14), such that the number of commissioning zones (14) is the same as the second number of commissioners (20) and the commissioning computer (28) varies the boundaries (15) between adjacent commissioning zones (14) by means of a zone allocation strategy (Z) in order to match the size of the commissioning zones in the commissioning region (12) and/or the number of commissioning zones (14) in the commissioning region (12) to variable influence commissioning parameters.

  • Publication number: 20080302002
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device (30) for watering plants by means of an electronically operating control system. The substrate moisture is measured at time intervals, and the measured values of a plurality of measurements are stored. The measured values that have been stored are used to identify a trend in the moisture content of the substrate, and this trend is used to adjust a quantity of water to be applied. A number of measurement cycles taking place between two watering cycles is preferably used to readjust the quantity of water.

  • Publication number: 20080202220
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for determining the water content of a medium, particularly of soils and the like, in which a probe or sensor (8) located in the medium is heated. A temporary change in temperature is effected by dissipating the thermal energy through the moisture in the area surrounding the probe, this change in temperature being used for determining the moisture content of the medium. An intermediate layer (13) is placed between the probe and the surrounding medium and is absorbent and mechanically deformable for mechanically coupling the probe to the surrounding medium and for decoupling the probe and the surrounding medium thereby enabling a precise measurement of moisture content to ensue while being subjected to the least possible thermal influence by the largely undetermined surrounding medium.

  • Publication number: 20080202219
Abstract: The invention relates to a sensor for measuring the water content or moisture content in a solid matter medium, in particular to a ground humidity sensor, as well as to a device for use with a sensor for improving its accuracy. The sensor, or at least the region of the sensor designed for measurement, is surrounded by an interface, the interface absorbing and releasing moisture, as well as designed in a mechanically flexible manner, such that the interface may be adapted to a non-constant or not clearly defined surface of the solid matter medium surrounding the sensor, i.e. to the earth. By way of this, the contact surface between the sensor and the medium is optimized, and air gaps, impressions of stones, etc., are compensated or bridged. The interface is preferably manufactured of a felt of plastic fibers, and is exchangeably attached via a sensor or sensor head.

  • Patent number: 7289309
Abstract: The apparatus is intended for disconnection of a live electrical conductor and has an enclosure (3) and two power connections (1, 2) which are passed out of the enclosure (3). A conductor section (7) which connects the two power connections (1, 2) to one another and a propellant means are arranged in the enclosure interior (4). The propellant means is used to produce an amount of compressed gas which is sufficient to disconnect the conductor section (7) when a fault current occurs. The propellant means is kept free of combustible substances and is chosen such that the amount of compressed gas which is required for disconnection can be thermally released from the propellant means by the electrical work produced by the fault current. Since explosive substances are avoided in the apparatus, the apparatus can be produced, transported, installed and maintained completely safely. After being commissioned, the apparatus is distinguished by high operational reliability.

  • Patent number: 7154728
Abstract: The active part which is provided for use in a surge arrester includes two connecting fittings, which are arranged along an axis at a distance from one another, at least one cylindrical varistor column, which is provided between the two connecting fittings, and at least one dielectric loop. This loop is supported on the two connecting fittings and thus holds the active part together, thus forming a contact force. The active part is distinguished by a small physical height and little use of materials. This is achieved in that at least one of the two connecting fittings has an electrode, which is arranged at right angles to the axis and is in the form of a plate, as well as an electrical connection, which is integrally formed on the plate. Furthermore, supporting means which are in the form of shoulders are provided for the dielectric loop, and are formed in the plate and/or are integrally formed at the edge of the plate.

  • Publication number: 20060207877
Abstract: The technology is based on the plasma etching of organic polymer sheets partially protected by a metallic mask. The originality of the process is to pattern the surface properties by the same physical means as the one used for the three dimensional fabrication and simultaneously to this fabrication. Surface properties mean, but are not limited to hydrophobicity hydrophilicity, conductivity, reflectability, rugosity and more precisely the chemical and/or physical state of the surface. It is also possible to generate the desired fonctionalities, for instance carboxylic acid, ester, ether, amid or imide, during the etching process. The patterning of the different properties may be achieved by two different techniques that may be used separately or simultaneously.
