  • Patent number: 4913300
Abstract: The closure has a body (1) and a guarantee ring (2) connected to it. The hooks (5) applied to the guarantee ring (2) and intended to separate the latter (2) from the body (1) of the closure upon removal of the closure from the container are each equipped with a slide wedge (8). This wedge may perferably be in the middle of the hook which extends longitudinally along the periphery of the closure. The wedge (8) has a slide face (11) of a width (b) that is about a quarter of the length (L) of the hook (5). The slide face (11) is inclined to the interior wall (4) of the guarantee ring preferably at an angle (.alpha.) of 31 degrees and initiates at the lower rim (9) of the guarantee ring in order to improve the machine-operated placing of the closure onto the container.

  • Patent number: 4540102
Abstract: A screw top has a long, thin annular sealing washer which extends from the ring part of the top to the container opening over its outer edge. During the final phase of screwing down, it is pressed on to the surface around the container opening by a pressure rib attached to the cap part. As the base or root of the washer moves further downwardly, while the contact line between the pressure rib and the packing washer remains fixed, the intermediate portion is expanded. It is therefore pressed against the opening and particularly against the outer edge of the container.

  • Patent number: 4530436
Abstract: Below the closure member 1, the screw cap has a closing band, whose wall thickness is less than that of the closure member. The heat-shrunk guarantee strip is fitted to this closing band by means of webs and a connecting piece. The guarantee strip has an interruption and a predetermined breaking element bridging the latter. Due to the fact that the connecting piece forms a rigid area with the end of the guarantee strip, on unscrewing the cap, under the action of the circumferential forces widening the guarantee strip, firstly the predetermined breaking element and then the adjacent webs tear. The guarantee strip always remains connected to the closure member and does not adhere to the bottle, which would have a disadvantageous effect at the time of reuse.

  • Patent number: 4355730
Abstract: The screw cap has a guarantee ring (3) connected to the cap (2) by means of thin flanges (4). It has its maximum thickness (d) in the vicinity of said flanges and the thickness decreases upwards. The height (h) of ring (3) is at the maximum half that of screw cap (2). Thus, the ring is strong enough not to be pressed in radially, while only requiring the absolute minimum of material necessary for its manufacture. It covers a milled surface (6) on the screw cap (2) which, after removing the same, serves for screwing down the cap. The outer surface of ring (3) and the uncovered part (2d) of screw cap (2) have a smooth surface. This makes it impossible to open the cap for the illegal removal of the content of container (1) without breaking the thin flanges (4).

  • Patent number: 4090630
Abstract: A container closure, comprises a container having an open mouth, with a rim formation around the mouth with an exterior bead formation and an interior wall. The container is closed by a cap which has a flat top portion overlying the mouth and it has an annular skirt portion extending downwardly from the periphery of the flat top portion, which is engaged over the bead formation and terminates at its lower internal end in a bead engaged against the interior surface of the container below the bead formation. The cap also has a substantially cylindrical central part with an annular portion bearing against the interior wall of the receptacle adjacent the rim which has a lower free end with a reinforcing portion.
